  • Drop in Classes in Toronto?

Posted by Casi on July 1, 2015 at 5:39 pm

Hi Toronto Veeners, I’m going to be spending three weeks of July in Toronto for work. I don’t know how much free time I’ll get, but I’d love to try out a pole studio near where I’m staying (just west of Ryerson University). Can anyone recommend a place where I could drop in for a class or two, preferably intermediate/advanced or multi-level? Thanks.

Hi, the closes studio from where you are is Brass Vixen Young studio. They have great instructors and maybe 6-8 block walk from ryerson university.

Thanks so much Joni. Have you been to the studio? Any info on how the classes are organized (ie. more dance based or tricks, what kinds of things do they do in each level, etc.)? I see mostly beginner on the schedule, but maybe that could be fun too if they do a lot of dance moves and transitions, as my normal studio focuses on tricks.

Brass Vixen has 3-4 studio in Toronto. All the instructors are amazing there. The advance classes is amazing for tricks and the dance classes are also awesome. The dance base classes are amazing there. Pole Inc is another studio in Toronto that is also amazing. Most of their members have gone to compete and placed in Canadian competition. They are great in trick base classes. You would have to take the subway and a short buses to get to pole inc. I have been to both studios. I teach pole and Pole silks in Mississauga 45 min outside of Toronto.

During a business meeting a few months ago I went to brass vixens and loved it. I took a private lesson with Miss Tia and told her that I’m not into sexy, I like strength and tricks. She immediately kicked off her heels and taught me so many new things. I was so incredibly happy with my experience. I am actually headed back there for another business meeting this upcoming week and will be taking another private lesson with her 🙂

What glowing recommendations! Now I’m just sorry I’m still recovering from injury and wouldn’t be able to fully benefit from a private class. Can I ask how much the private classes cost?

    Hi Casi,

Welcome to Toronto! I’m sorry to hear about your injury. There is a really great teacher (who understands injuries) who teaches a tricks and transitions class at 6:45, and an intermediate class at 7:45 on Wednesday evenings at Pole Inc. The poles are high, 45mm Chrome (comp poles, so heaven for competitors as Joni said) and the vibe is very warm and supportive. If you like the studio, it might be worthwhile checking out more classes, as well as practice time. 🙂 It’s at 276 Carlaw.

Thanks Red! I’d love to check out those classes if there is any way I can find the time. I will definitely look into it.
