  • Drop in studios in New Orleans?

    Hello all!

I'm from New Orleans and heading home for the holidays. I'll be gone out of CA for 10 whole days and I'm going to miss pole!!

Does anyone know any studios in New Orleans that I can do a drop in class at? I've been poling for over a year and will not do anything risky without proper instructor supervision! (a big pet peeve I know of studio owners).

Any advice would help, thanks! 🙂

I'll second the question. I'll be there in late January. I'll be staying in the Marigny with only a bicycle, so something within easy riding distance is preferable. 🙂

The only drop in studio will be Body in Motion on Veterans in Metairie 😉

They have crescent lotus, pole pro, and pole perfect fitness… They are all session based though.

But maybe if you email them and tell them you are in from out of town they might do a drop it for you? I should warn you that these studios are all pretty much beginners based when I visted…

Which is fine for me, but I think you ladies are probably in the high intermediate to advanced category??

I fly out 1/1/2013. I'm hoping to find something intermed-advanced or even just rent a space out to use the pole to do my own stuff. I tried calling Crescent Lotus and no luck but I'll email the other 2. Thanks for all of your help 🙂

Maybe I'll just go hang out on the back patio at Barely Legal. lol

Or I could check out the Little Rascals parade then hit a pole class. That'd give me a reason to head to metarie…

How long will you be down? Maybe we can meet up down here and up in KC too. I’ll be there Jan 3-21st

I'll be there Jan 18-21st, so it looks like I'll miss you. But I'll be here. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

We have an open hoop jam in this great warehouse space downtown on Monday evenings and on Thursdays too in Jan. I usually bring a couple sets of silks (just got a pretty new purple set) and an aerial hammock. Ceilings aren't super high, maybe only 13 ft at the beam where we rig, but high enough to practice some basics.

I think I convinced my husband to get me a lyra for my birthday, but unfortunately that isn't until Feb.
