Kori, your freakishly short arms are going to be an issue. This has shades of Allegra and the Felix split leg sit, and you struggle with both of those. There is a also a little bit of Janeiro in there.

And before anyone thinks any differently, the comment about her arm length are her words.

Not for me. For Zelko, who can do all of those.

Beautiful trick! Must give that a try, though I’m sure it will not be easy. But at least I’ve got long arms 🙂

A video would def help because now we are clueless where it goes wrong for you.

That video is the eclipse. I was posting it so people could give tips. I will show our progress when we get video.

I gave the first part of it a little try. Like Chemgoddess said, long arms probably won’t hurt. But as you can see, my bottom arm is not as well placed as in the video. Maybe a better back stretch could help a bit, and maybe it would get positioned slightly better if I could dare to start dropping the body down like she does.

God Bless you people. I was poling today very sad and depressed w/ almost no inspiration and tried bird of paradise. And now there is this for next pole session which I’ll probably be all sad and depressed for as well LOL! But! even through that you all provide the inspiration to work through it anyway! Thanks.

@korinne Zelko can totally do this. The difficult part of this move is the rotation required of the lower shoulder. Also, it can hard as hell to keep the top arm from slipping.

To help with the top arm, I try to think of pulling myself toward the pole, rather than just holding on. you’ll feel less weighted in the pose. The bottom arm needs to be a bit lower than the photo that Lina Spiralyne posted.

@Lina Spiralyne If you lower you bottom arm a bit, rotate you torso more toward the floor, rather than around the pole, your shoulder pole will be closer to the pole. Then you just arch up and split.

    Hope this helps.

@phoenix kazree: Thanks for the advise! I thought I was supposed to rotate my torso as much as I could around the pole, just looked like that in her video. But I’ll try the positioning you suggested next time 🙂
