Excited to be here!

Hi everyone, I'm hayley and I live in pretty much the middle of nowhere in Ohio. Because the nearest class is about an hour and a half away I am going to attempt to learn myself with videos and of course tips from all of you:) so any pointers to someone new to this site and to pole would be great!

Welcome Haley! The best advise to give you is to get the lessons here on SV if you haven't already done so. They are a fantastic way to learn. Veena has placed them in order so that you build up your strength to move onto the next moves and levels. There are tons of stretching and conditioning videos that are instrumental in your journey. There is a 30 day takeoff program that is a great way to get started! Take your time and work at a pace that works for your body. Some Veeners have been poling for quite a while and have worked hard to get to the level they are now. Don't feel like you have to or should be able to get moves quickly or easily. If you need help with a particular move, just ask. Everyone here is friendly and quick with good advise!! Congratulations and enjoy your journey!

Thanks! I will definitely get the lessons then. Especially for me, I've never had any training in this at all. Loving how supportive and active everyone is on this site:)

Welcome, this IS a great place. I agree with Saphyre, veena's lessons are wonderful. And they will start you off the right way with strength, conditioning and correct technique. There is a lot of support and a lot of fun!

Also, as Saphrye said, go at pace that works for you and patience is important. It's easy to want to nail "that move", but it will come and we will all happy dance with you when you do!

Once my pole gets here I totally am getting her lessons. ughhh the wait for that 8ft box is killing meee!!

Ha don't worry about it Hazi:) Finally got my Lil Mynx pole, ready for these awesome lessons now. I can already tell I'm going to be addicted..
