Exiting from flatline Scorpio?
Posted by TinyDancer04 on August 21, 2011 at 7:55 pmSo I have a nice little combo going- cradle-extended cradle-butterfly-flatline Scorpio but the problem is I haven’t found a good way to get out of this yet!
All I’ve been doing is owning into an inverted v and sliding down but it’s really not very graceful!!
Any ideas?
Ive thought about going into a superman but I can’t do a superman from FS yet, only from inverted pike hold and Im fairly low to the ground at the end of this combo so I don’t think I’d have enough room!MichelleH replied 13 years, 2 months ago 9 Members · 18 Replies -

Meant to say ‘opening to an inverted v- not owning lol.

I like to go into a regular scorpio, but this combo might be too low for that. You could also try going back into a cradle and down – that would make it like a palindrome combo!

Hmm never thought of that lol- I don’t know if the logistics of it would work tho- do you have any tips?

I go to a quick scorpio and to a handstand scorpio since i usually end up kind of low. From that it's easy to move to the floor. If you higher you can go to scorpio and allegra.

Sure! Assuming we mean the same thing by a cradle (aka a Jamilla), it's not too complex. Your hands are already in the split grip position, so all you have to do is unhook your inside leg. It takes a bit of strength and balance, though so that's probably the main challenge.

lol sorry Alesha i was meaning that i made it really quick before changing to the next move because i usually spin a little and go even lower….Just a regular scorpiohttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Great suggestions! REally the only combo I know is apprentice or gemini into butterfly- to flatline- and then…. I get STUCK! I cant get out either! lol The only way By accident I ever did is to drop into regular scorpio. If you can do the open into a V- GOOD FOR YOU!!! haha I tred but I seemed to be glued to the pole at that point and cant get my hand back to realease.. Loved your post / question cause it encouraged me Im not the only one. 🙂

Veena actually has a very nice video where she goes from flatinne scorpio into butterfly, however you could go into extended butterfly instead. The combo is at 1:03

I usually just go into a regular Scorpio then slide to the floor. My instructor goes back into a thigh hold and slides down. It looks awesome but is surprisingly difficult.

I like the options here 🙂
When spinning into butterfly I'm usually so low that regular Scorpio doesn't work. My default is to V out tilting down really slowly, I end up sitting on the floor in a full straddle, or tuck one leg in on the way down.
Alternative exits from FS when I'm higher up, apart from the ones already mentioned, could also be switching legs and you are in Shooting Star. To hip holds I transition through regular scorpio, bringing my arm pit to the pole before I take my legs off that is. But now I'm wondering if you could go straight from FS to a Jade split… hmmmm. Or bring the thighs together and unpretzel into an inverted thigh hold (gotta check if that really works, it just popped into my brain)? Apprentice/Hero is another option, but that leaves a similar challenge what to do next 😉

hello, I'm hoping I'm thinking of the right move, I slide down from the scorpio into an inverted v, then swing around and slide down the pole one leg bent.. I'm terrible at explaining butttt It's in my one and only SV video at about 40 seconds 🙂 hope this hel;ps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif
