Extension won’t screw into base insert
I found this thread which is pretty similar, but wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar problem.
I have an old-style X-Pole, bought a few years ago. I've gone to put it up in my new house only to find the 125mm extension won't screw into the base insert. I now remember that I had this issue with the extension previously, but managed to work around it because it would (for some bizarre reason) fit into the 250mm extension, but not anything else. The new house has shorter ceilings though, so I only need the 125mm extension and can't get it to fit. It won't even screw in to the main pole either. It's the threaded end that has the problem, but I can't see (at a glance) any issues to cause it to stick like it does – it screws in a few mm but won't budge any further. I'm hesitant to force it too much incase it gets crossthreaded and renders my base insert useless in the future if I need to change the height again (it's very likely that the pole will end up relocated once we finish some major work on the house to free up a spare room or garage/workshop for it).
The most simple solution is to order a new extension but I just can't understand why it won't screw in to the base insert or main pole but is fine with the 250mm extension! Any ideas? I've contacted customer services (in the UK – I'm over here on our little island) but the guy who deals with these queries is out of the control until next week, and I'm sure you all understand the impatience to get poling after a long break!
