Favourite pole?
I am just curious on what poles you like the best? 🙂 I have an xpole and I love it, except for wet,rainy, slippery days! 🙂 Then it is impossible. On the studio I go to they have lil mynx in colours. And I must say it takes longer time before I start to slip. I have a problem with sweaty hands and I work hard for handstrenght. But Handsprings are impossible those days. What do you guys think? Feel any difference? 🙂 What is your favourite?

Xpole xpert! I have a 50 mm chrome and slip quite a bit but I LOVE the xpole overall. I plan on getting an Xpole titanium gold in a few months which I hear is alot better for a more secure grip. 🙂

Also wanted to add to maybe try a grip aid like dry hands or the might grip gloves. I just started using dry hands and it helps alot. Also I just started using a grip exerciser and I have noticed a difference in my grip already. Someone posted a couple days ago, I think it was klaus and he uses 1 yellow old fashion dishwashing glove to help him with grip. I've heard of a few others using a dish glove too, I plan on trying it 🙂

I use dry hands but those hopeless days it doesnt help. I love xpole in every way except that part. 🙂 My gloves broke so I have buy new ones. I was thinking about trying excercises for my hands. Anyone know if xpole pink edition is any different in grip?

I like all of them for different reason.
1) stainless for it's glide. It makes spins way easier
2) chrome and TG for the stickiness for the body, but it's not overly sticky.
3) brass and powder coated for the hand grip. I have mega sweaty hands.
4) 45 and 38 for the easy hand grip and knee pit/arm pit grips.
I hate 50's, so I have nothing good to say about them…

in the way of brands..
1) platinum stages has nice and secure 1 piece poles. I love their base and ceiling plate being fully covered. The finishes are really nice. It's fairly easy to set up. Comes in 3 different diameters.
2) the pole is fairly secure and easy to store and has good height versatility. Comes in a lot of finishes. Cmoes in 3 different diameters.
3) lilmynx for it's ease of set up and it's height versatility. The only powder coated around.

I had a Platinum Stages stainless, but sold it. It was too slippery for me to practice on. Admittedly, I was very new to pole at the time and didn't have the strength and confidence. I'm getting an X Pole – which is what we use at the studio I go to.
I have really sweaty hands too and I've found Tight Grip works really well (big thanks to Aerial Amy for recommending). I put it on 30 minutes before class and my hands stay dry/don't sweat. It's NOT a grip aid, but will stop the sweating.

my studio has 50mm chrome platinum stages poles and at home i have a 45mm TG x-pole. I must say that I prefer the x-pole especially the smaller size

My favorite is the X-Pole Chrome 40mm – it's simply a magic pole! I adore it!
My 2nd choice would be a 45mm stainless – PS makes a good stainless but I'd only get the one piece because the bottom loader has a bottom cover that is larger than the pole and it cut my foot up badly on my remi drop.
I have a TG 45 and it's awesome but waaaayyyyy to grippy for my liking.
I adore all of my X-poles but the 40mm right now is my fav 😀

I love love looooove my PS 45mm stainless steel. It's the perfect amount of grip. I stick like glue when I'm in poses but I'm still able to spin, drop, and slide without pain or skin ripping. My only beef with the PS pole is that the slip cover gets in the way, but that's really only because my pole is so short. I'd have the same issues with an X-Pole. I like the pin for locking out the pole too, and the one-pieces are really nice. I like the SSA stage pole a lot too.
We have a 45mm chrome X-Pole at my studio and a bunch of 47mm powder-coat poles, and I don't really like either. The size on both is ok, but I need a lot of grip aid to work with chrome, and the powder coat tends to rip and burn my skin.

@Kyrelle – you arne't kidding about those powder coated poles – geez between those and the ps slip cover I could remi drop for 3 weeks! LOL!
Plus anyone who has super sweaty hands, I do, powder coated might not be the best option because they aren't porous and they don't soak up the sweat – it rides on top – I've always had great body grip on PC but bad hand grip – metal is a better way to go – imo.

I am super sweat monster and stainless is honestly the only finish I really stick to like glue. Chrome is the worst of all finishes for me grip wise unless someone else has warmed it up to the point where it’s hot to the touch, but even then once I start sweating it’s game over.
A good, broken in, well used stainless pole is like magic for me. I can do absolutely anything I try on a good stainless pole, even when I start to sweat. It doesn’t become a problem until I’m literally dripping.

I was thinking about getting a lil mynx because I liked the grips to my hands but I am afraid I wont be able to do drops when I get to that point. I love the look of an xpole but maybe I should get a 45 mm in an other finish? 🙂 Plus there are no seller of Lil Mynx here in Sweden so it would be quite expensive and since we are talking about moving I dont know if the ceiling height will be ok then. I like it with the xpole that it it so adjustable.
I would like to try the xstage though! 🙂

On the PS website it looks like both the single and the multi piece have the same type of bottom cover? Can't you make the pole top loading by flipping it, and would it still be a problem do you think? I want to get a 45 but am so torn between xpole (i have a 50mm multi xpert) and ps (never owned one but our studio poles are ps) – however the height adjuster sticking out on the ps pole is one of my biggest concerns, especially now that i'm learning cartwheel/handspring mounts – i don't want it to get in the way and i certainly don't want to cut myself!

From what I understand you can have a removable PS cut to length and you won't need the adjuster rod – it would be semi perm like an LM – atleast a year or so ago they had that option. It's a special order and it costs more though (if it's an option.) I've heard you can turn them over too but on an 8ft ceiling…I wouldn't imagine you could use the cover with it, so you wouldn't have that much pole space. Maybe Erica will come on and explain. But I'm pretty sure you can get custom poles with PS.
PS has a great stainless steel – by far my favorite.
Another SS option is the LM and that gives you abour 7'9 and they come in skinnies and 50's. I like their stainless ok, my hands just don't agree with it as much as the PS poles though.

You can make the 1 piece and multi piece top loading. With the 1 piece, you don't have to mention it as the top and bottom adapters are the same, but if you want to make the multi piece top loading, you need to mention it when you order the pole since a special adapter needs to be included with the pole.
