Lately, the day after I exercise I feel horrible and can barely function.  I had been exercising regularly, (30 minutes of cardio a day a week, 60 minutes at the gym two days a week, and pole one day a week, stretching on the cardio and pole days), and two weeks ago after my Saturday pole session, Ididn't feel well the next day, but it was Sunday so I just laid around.  I did cardio on Monday and couldn't function at work on Tuesday.  I quit exercising all together after that (2 weeks ago), it can't get in the way of my work.  I had been feeling a lot better this week so I tried to exercise yesterday and I feel awful today.  I just did 20 minutes of cardio, I keep my heart rate in the right range, I didn't feel like I over did anything.  I felt find afterwards, I think better and feel more energized.  Does this happen to other people? Anyone have any ideas about why this may be happening?  If I wasn't doing all this exercise just fine for months before I would assume I was just out of shape.

How is your diet? Are you getting enough calories to sustain your workouts and your daily functions? Next thing I would look at is vitamins/minerals and fats. If you are not getting enough fats in your diet, it will affect your energy levels, especially when training and not getting enough b vitamins can make you feel tired or lethargic as well.

Another thing i would look at is how long you have been training at your current intensity level. If it has been months, then it might be time for a "deload" period where you dial back the intensity of the exercises and give your body a break and a time to catch up. You might even need a break for a week or two from doing anything in the gym, depending on your body.

abcollin1, has some good suggestions! Sometimes our body is telling us we need to rest. Also take a look at diet and make sure your getting enough of everything as she suggested. Low iron can also make you feel sluggish. After a work out, make sure you are eating something, you need to replenish carbs and protein. If you feel your diet is good then seeing a dr would be a good idea. Your not pregnant are you??

Thanks for the suggestions.  I will track what I eat this week,  I have been slacking off on keeping track of that. 🙂  I know I ate less fat than normal last week. I take a multivitamin and a B complex everyday.  I do not have iron in my multi, so that could be an issue.  Being pregnant is not a possibility, and I do have an appt with my doc next week.

I felt like this A LOT! Sometimes I still do but not every day. I found out I had low iron. I take a vitamin every day and I think it has helped!!
