    @Develange – Glad it worked so well for you! I think that's the same concept. The vinegar dissolving the oil and grime. Ouch to thigh chafing! Maybe less sliding down while inverted? lol! Or dilute it more? What type of vinegar did you use?

    @Tine007 – Thanks for your professional input! I wish I knew about avoiding the X-Pole joints when I was using alcohol all these years. The joints were fine, but the parts near the holes look like the chrome layer corroded off (this happened about 1-2 years after I got the pole). This was with alcohol though. I'll also avoid that part with vinegar, just in case.

    @Jenn – Pure brass is fine. Flirty Girl Fitness uses solid brass poles and vinegar 50/50, no break down from what I saw.

    @chemgoddess1 – ROTFLMAO! So does this mean I can drink AND pole at the same time? Sweet! Imagine me bringing in a bottle of vodka to an NYC pole studio? HAHAHAHA!!!! But back to the titanium thing, titanium gold IS resistant to vinegar's acid base? Meaning it's safe. And you're saying, titanium gold's COLOR will wear off faster with vinegar but will wear off regardless b/c of our hands? It won't corrode.

    There have been a few threads on here regarding wearing of the gold on the TG poles.  Some have been really bad and some not so much (I don't think Veena's has worn at all).  You can anodize titanium and aluminum…those are the brightly colored jewlery you will see.  All they are doing is passing an electrical current through the metal and getting an oxidized state of the metal…this is what gives it color.  I ASSUME this is how they are creating the gold finish on the TG poles.  I am not POSITIVE that is how they are doing it.  Titanium is a dark silver color metal.  It is very light and very strong.

    I wiped the pole (50mm chrome) down with vinegar (5% acidity), and it didn't help a thing. is it too little acid, or what do you think could be the cause?? did i wipe it in a wrong way? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    yessss! i wiped the pole and my hands, until the smell made me crave for some salad https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

    but the pole is still slippery as a waterslide. it's a pretty new one, too, meaning not used too often until now

    Hmmmm It might be bc your pole is brand new and still needs to be broken in. It’s working for others bc our poles are not as new. Try rubbing it HARD for 3-5 minutes with the vinegared towel to warm it up longer and break it in more.

    What type of vinegar did you use? White distilled vinegar? Cider vinegar? Balsamic? Cane? Did you 50/50 mix?

    I can atest to the vinegar!  Our X-stage was super slippery and very unworkable, after a cleaning of vinegar – it was great.

    I'll also try vodka but I think vinegar in the end is going to be the most economical solution.

    lol chem I have that pink curved jewelry 😉

    ok so it started out as this being about sweaty hands…but everyone seems to think it does make it grippier, wonder if it will work on my minx for my super dry hands? I'd like both poles in the living room to be useable!

    @Chem:

    Would the vinegar be okay on a powder-coated Lil Mynx? I have no problem gripping with my thighs, but my hands are iffy on it.

    Yayyyy! Glad its working out for you ladies! My friend googled and saw this thread pop up. She tried vinegar alone and was like, “Now what am I going to do with the other products? Throw them out?” lol!

    @nymphdancer – It should work with a Lil Mynx and super dry hands. My partner at Crunch had super dry hands and she loved her stronger grip!

    @aerialmck – Would love to hear a response about powder coated from one of the chemists. I haven’t had a chance to see or test that one. You could try and let us know! 😉

    i tried it this morning, too. it worked really good, although me and my pole weren´t warmed up really good. i did the iguana and shoulder mount in a freestyle dance without wiping the pole as i normally have to do it before those moves ^^ i´ve made a vid of it and post it later
