Finally had a good practice
I know this sounds ridiculous but I CANNOT STAND THE FEEL OF THE CARPET UNDER MY FEET IN MY RENTAL. As a matter of fact, I can’t even stand to hear the sound of the carpet squishing under my feet. (FYI–I’m 1st generation Chinese so I wear house slippers inside. To those of you who are Asian, you’ll get what I’m talking about https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif ) A while back, I bought a pair of half-socks for dancers (there’s a thin pad that goes under the balls of your feet and there are holes for your toes to go through), which are OK. I usually go barefoot at the studio which has wood floors, or wear shoes when I’m in the mood. Well, I recently lost my income so I had to end my membership at the studio so I can only practice at home. I’ve been completely unmotivated and yes, part of it is my carpet-phobia. So I’ve been a lazy old depressed couch potato for ages and today I decided that I needed to get back on the pole. Then it dawned on my to try dancing in ballet slippers. Lo and behold, it was perfect. Then I decided to get out of the sloppy clothes I was wearing and put on a bra top and shorts (I NEVER show my belly, EVER!). And since I was already on a roll, I decided to record my practice. And I think I’m going to try to post my first ever video! I’m so glad that my energy has finally shifted and that I’m starting to make positive choices rather than sitting around feeling sorry for myself.
