Hi there everyone..sorry about this non pole related discussion!! Does anyone know how to get buddy passes from airlines. I know employees earn them but they fly free with their families so I’m confused as to where all the saved buddy passes go?
I just ask because I am desperately trying to get my 18 year old nephew here (sac) from Glendale, az for the week of Xmas. I tried this in September for my wedding but it just wasn’t feasible. All means of transportation seem so crazy expensive!!! Even the greyhound is over $250!!! I feel my only hope is a buddy pass or maybe a really really good rate on a rental car.
I haven’t seen my nephew in over 10 years, we used to be very close until my brother got divorced. Then the mom took the kids away from my whole side of the family. Now that he is old enough to make his own decisions he wants to come reunite and spend time with the family, which is great. He really doesn’t have much there in az, so I hope he feels just as loved & comfortable as his two younger brothers did when they came down last Xmas and decided to stay. Thx for your time veeners!! Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated…I’m paying for this myself so the cheaper the better!!
    Happy Holidays!!

I have a friend who works for an airline. He explained the buddy pass to me in the past. It's not exactly what you describe. Usually you can only have one person be your "buddy". You have to provide proof that this person has lived in your residence for a consecutive six month period before you are allowed to use the buddy pass. However, he works for Delta so perhaps it's different for other airlines.

I work for a company that operates Delta but people get like 15 buddy passes, which costs, it's a head ache depending on what day you fly. The new company doesn't offer us buddy passes so I can't help. I say greyhound is best. Bcz the buddy pass, is a low priority, so you are like the last to get on and it also depends on when the employee was hired…etc. It's a headache, sometimes you might not even get on that same day, but if he has patience then 🙂
