How do you ladies find the time?  Not to pole, but to create the videos that are posted on this site.  I have great practice sessions that have been recorded…but it takes me weeks to find the time to take out the crap (the water breaks, cleaning the pole, etc), pick the clips I want to show and get it down to a file size that I can upload!  I also miss out on recording many good pole sessions because my camera still is full from the last time!  It's so frustrating.

I have the time, I’m just not sure what a good camera for recording is :/ I’ve bought cameras in the past for tennis, and they didn’t track fast movements too well. Otherwise, I have 2 days off, and go to my studio bi-monthly. I’m envious of women who don’t mind poleing in their garages/infront of piles of folded laundry/while their roomies are doing things behind the, while recording on camera. It’s a great way to track progress.

This is the camera I have and use.  I love it, it works great!

Haha, an actual camcorder, hmmm….I’ll check it out, I’m cheap so I plan on buying my camera off of craigslist :p

Otherwise, what does your schedule look like that prevents you from recording?

I usually find I have more difficulty actually doing the recording because the only time I can record is during practice time which is once a week and I share the studio with about 5-10 other people. To find enough space for me to record myself poling and not include anyone else in is kind of difficult….. I always get jealous of people who get a whole studio to just let go and freestyle to their hearts content!!

When I do finally get a video though I'm usually so excited that I edit it straight away when I get home and find it easy to edit weirdly enough…

@CapFeb, Where to start… ummm, 3 part time jobs, and a hubby who doesn't want me staring into the computer during the small amount of time we actually have together every day are the biggest factors.  😛 Doing the bare minimum of house and yard work (just enough to keep the house running; ie laundery when the piles reach the ceiling, lol) takes up any leftover.  Everyone else must work and have family/home obligations too though…

I don't record entire practices. I never have, but I try to record a dance or moves I'm working on once a week or so to critique. It's so much more manageable than picking clips out of a long pole session.

I don't do fancy editing either, I''m still just learning the basics of imovie!
