Yesterday I got my first pole related injury.. It’s bittersweet because it hurts but I feel like I’ve been initiated as a poler…lol don’t judge me.
Anywho, my right bicep is tender, likely a small tear or pull (im no medical professional). I remembered later on that I missed a small set of dynamic stretches that I typically do.
It actually happened while doing an elbowstand, I put more pressure on my arms to elevate my head and afterwards my right bicep was hurting. So I spent that time to practice on my left side.
In the meantime, anything to do to speed up the healing process? I def do not want to aggravate it.

if you think you may have a strain or tear I would see a doctor. if you do have a tear doing anymore poling will just further injure your bicep. it makes me sad that injury seems a normal part of poling, because that’s not true at all. I’m not judging your statement but I know you have probably seen or heard a lot of polers that have injuries from this sport and some just keep plugging along because they think that just comes with the territory. hope you are feeling better. if you are not better in a couple of days or if it gets worse I would see a doctor. a muscle tear can greatly hinder your poling abilities permanently. Just say NO to injury! 🙂 don’t accept injury as a normal part of poling and take care of your body.

I had the same issue last week. Didn’t warm up properly and ended with a slight tear to my bicep. I can’t pole for at least the next three weeks per the doctors orders. Arms take a while to recover and continuing to use them can make it worse.
