Flag Invert problems? Boobs
Posted by Monicasaerialadventures on May 21, 2013 at 8:59 pmSo I am wondering if anyone else finds the flag invert very painful to work on due to large boobs? My hand always gets in the way of my boobs 🙁 I want it so bad, but I can't take the pain

Yep happens to me why 3 yrs poling & I still can’t flag 🙁

I have small boobs but even I manage to dig my nails into my chest doing this move. It is getting better since I am stronger but when I was relying on any poc I could find it tore my boob up. Now just a red mark that quickly fades. 🙂

is this kind of like the western flag? I think I have a pic of me working n it in my profile. Can't figure out how to add a pic here from my iPad. But I have quite large boobs. Actually doesnt hurt them at all. Lol maybe I use them as cushion.

I have red marks on my right boob from trying this but my main problem is getting my hips high enough. Grrrr another one of those frustrating moves! lol Any tips on getting the hips up?

I'm pretty flat and I pinch my nipples every time when I try this trick. lol

My boobs don't ever hurt from it, but I guess I don't do it enough?

I m having that problem too. A week ago I tried so hard to get this move and i repeated it like 20 times.. after a while a noticed that I hurt my boobs and got red marks on it. But I think my nails were just too long , that might not have happend if I cut them short 😉

Its like I pinch my boobs when I try it, they always get in the way when it comes to pole

I've never had this problem…I can't invert yet, but I can go into a flag and hold it for a few seconds…
Your boobs are supposed to be on the side of the pole, if you're not pushing your body out far enough then they will probably get in the way. I don't understand why some of you are getting marks on your chest? Unless I'm thinking of something completely different?

I could totally see how a Flag Invert would hurt the boobs! The flag alone, not so much, but as you move up into the invert, there is a motion where the pole really is smashing into the upper chest. I'm not sure how to fix it though….

Does anyone know any exercises to build up strength in lifting the hips vertically? I keep getting stuck in a horizontal position. 🙁

Ahh the flag invert! 🙂 I have tiny tits and I used to always pinch my nipples when I was learning it. It was so painful. but eventually it stopped as I got it right 🙂 Unfortunately I can't really remember what it was. I got sick of trying, rested the flag invert for a few months then when I tried it again I got it the first time almost without effort.
So always when someone asks me about what the trick is I tell them to try super hard for a few months, get pissed off from it. Don't try it for 2 months then try again and Voila! But ofcourse that's not it 🙂 Good luck! -
@EvaRut thats so true actually, I did that with my titanic – really tried and tried, sought a lot of advice, worked with instructors but couldn't do it then left it for a week or a few and then got it when I tried again. Maybe thats the key with the flag lift. I'll come back to it! 😉

I had that happen with the Flag Invert too. I was telling Amber how I just couldn't get it and bam! Up I went. lol
I think working on the Flag Invert from a V leg position for the lift is best, trying to kick off the pole doesn't give you the same feel. Also in this video you can see how the pole is pressed against the boobs as the body moves from flag to invert.
