HI @StudioVeena, that's such an amazing video – I hope one day I will be able to dance as smoothly. 🙂 I'm currently trying to find a way around my motion sickness on a spinny pole and can't move that well around a static pole. :/ Thanks for the tips. 🙂

Here's a pic of my current attempt, the body is horizontal and for some reason I always make contact with the pole using my shin. No idea how I get my shin instead of the knee pit, they aren't even on the same side! lol! I certainly have no idea how to move on from this stage too. :/

From your photo Mizzli, I can see that you haven't gotten the hips up high enough. You have to be past horizontal before you can grip the pole with the knee pit. This hips over head position, is what needs to click for the invert to happen, it's also when you'll feel the pole on the chest even as high as the clavicle and shoulder. You could try working on getting into the position by starting off in V legs and then tucking both legs as you work on lifting the hips over the head.

I do a hard tuck to get the hips up in this video @ 3:44 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myyLUUN65g0

Hi Veena, thanks for the advice and great video 🙂

I think after studying a few vids I realise my body is too horizontal but I can’t seem to push myself up. I don’t know if its lack of strength or fear of missing the pole and going straight over.

I’ve been following emotioncatchers absolutely fab video http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=sJ_Iyaf6FiY&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DsJ_Iyaf6FiY but stuck at 1.20mins

I can’t seem to lift from a straddle or v leg position but I can if I swing my top leg sideways (as in video).

Perhaps its something That might click if I come back to it after a few weeks? 😉 xxx

Veena, do you use your bottom hand to lower your upper body? It seems straight in the beginning and bent at the end.

The bottom arm bends because you’re pushing the torso up from that arm.

I just cant do this at all 🙁  tried and tried

I used to sometimes get my foot on but now that's gone.  If I try on the other side my boob is then stuck and squished 🙁 not a chance of going anywhere then.

    Really really want this!

Is it best to kick up ?

Ive tried from a straddle and I find that even more impossible

    SIGH!!!!!!

Veena, could you explain it in more detail? How do you push with it if the arm get shorter when it's bending?

I was wondering whether the hand placement for the invert is the same as the one for the normal flag? I use the one that Veena shows in her lesson for the flag.

With that hand placement I can easily go from the stomach-facing-the-floor pose to a normal flag with V legs. And from there, I "only" need to drop the head and lift the hips, yes? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Finally! My strategy of practicing the crap out of the flag invert then leaving it for a bit worked.  I came back to it and got it first attempt!! Whoo hooo I would say if you are learning something, practice it and then leave it for a while and practice it again.  You will most certainly get it!

Here's my vid but still needs more work and control but it's a start! https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/51afb03b-221c-42d6-b023-6c400ac37250
