Fly Gym
Posted by Paunobs on November 27, 2012 at 4:56 amI am just wondering if anyone on StudioVeena uses or has a Fly Gym, I am considering purchasing one and as the cost of shipping to Australia is ridiculously expensive I am hoping to hear from anyone who had one as to see if the cost is worth it!

I think nymphdancer has one. Quite honestly I think the entire system is ridiculously expensive, especially when compared to something like the Omni Gym: http://www.yogaswings.com/2010/10/29/omniswingbasic/ or even a basic yoga hammock. I would really like to know how this is worth $300.

I have FlyGym and I love it. However, that being said, it sounds like there are quite a few other options at a lesser price. I didn’t do any research when I bought mine – I also purchased it at a discount at the Midwest Comp & Convention – so price wise, I have no idea what other systems/slings go for. Chem clearly knows another option and I believe that there was a whole thread not too long ago when Veena herself was looking to get one. I draw a blank on the one she opted for…. I’m sure Chem can steer you toward that thread if you are interested – she’s great like that! 🙂

Thanks girls, i just found the previous thread. Fly Gym are working on a better price for me, and the yogaswing works out to be aroung the same cost anyway, so i will wait and see what they come up with, although I have found another option as well.:)

I have the omni gym and I love it! I have never used a fly gym but that looks awesome as well!

I saw the fly gym at the Miss Texas Pole star competition and they were 300 there too, but my question is for valerie98 what exactly is the omni for I know you haven’t used a fly gym but is it almost the same thing. Just curious to see which one is Better since they both cost the same

I like the stand if you don't have anything to rig to, but honestly, I'd just go with a basic aerial hammock.

I think that they are similar to each other. I went with the omni swing after looking into yoga swings. The omni seemed like it would be best for my needs. Just look into both and see what is best for you! I would love to try both! :))

Oh my god I just went to yoga swing.com and I must get an omni swing deluxe soon I’m happy since I can’t hang up silks in my house At least I can hang from this thanks for this great discussion

I am not going to fo into full detail, but with a little research online you can make your own aerial hammock with rigging for about $60.

Haha Chem good advise but I really could not be bothered to make one.
😛 . fly Gym are getting back to me with a better price as there are 3 of us here wanting them and In AUD the price is even cheaper , they are also on special at the moment , I think I will just purchase the fly gym my original complaint was that the shipping cost was going to be around $170 for each they have a yogaswing available in Australia but the features just don’t seem as good, at the end of the day I guess they all do pretty much the same thing! -

Yep!😥ðŸ˜ðŸ˜I’m waiting to hear from them for a much better price!

@paunobs, it's really simple. Buy fabric, rigging (caribeeners, etc. depending on how you want to connect) and then tie the fabric to the rigging. Hang and you're good to go. The only effort is time researching which rigging to purchase and then figuring out how to tie (which is explained on several websites).
Now if you want all those little handles and straps it's a different story. 😉
