    Hello…

    not pole related, but I see many here also have a yga hammock/fly gym or similar…

    There is currently a huge sale on FlyGym, and I have been wanting one forever. The problem is that they suggest using 10cm long eyebolts to fix it to the ceiling, and in most new buildings in Europe that is just not possible (or so contractors told me).

    My contractor told me he can easily set up bolts that can hold 10 times my weight (what seems to be reocmmended for all aerial rigging) with 6cm bolts… but I wanted to ask you ladies if anyone has any experience with this, and what length/thickness bolts did you use.

    I REALLY want a fly gym, really dislike the idea of an A-frame, but also really value my neck.

    Cheers =)

    I ended up getting a standalone portable rig for this purpose. If you go with a smaller size that reduces the rating. If I were you I would check with the manufacturer and see what their thoughts are. It’s possible that there is enough of a safety factor that a smaller size is okay assuming you don’t do any drops because that would create a dynamic load that requires a higher rated setup.

    I don’t know if this helps but I have a Lyra in my house. I used a steel metal plate from aerial essentials. It is installed in my living room ceiling through the stud. I had to rip out dry wall to get to it but my hubby patched it right up!

    Thanks a lot =)
    Sadly there’s no studs in this kind of ceiling, but my contractor is doing some calculations and studying up on safety requirements for rigging (I was lucky to find this guy!!) and will get back to me with options soon… can’t wait!

    I am trying to avoid an A-frame for several reasons… price, space (pole and fly gym go more or less in the same place and I plan to swap them, if I have to move the A-frame every time I want to pole, I am gonna be too lazy), ease of cleaning around whatever solution I find… so I hope to figure out sth that can be attached to the ceiling.
