@Empyrean
You might also take a look at Yamuna rolling balls. http://www.yamunabodyrolling.com/. There are three primary balls with different firmness to them.

I love my foam roller.I get sore everytime I climb, and practicing the caterpiller makes my shoulders and back scream for mercy the next day. the foam roller acts as a massage therapist, you controlling the amount of pressure. a blessing for sore muscles. An added bonus is what it does for tight hamstrings. I use it to help release the psoas and hammies, and I’m literally one inch away from splits now. I could ramble on forever on the different body parts positivelY affected since I got mine. I started off with a really basic roller,it came with the foam roller video I got when I purchased Leannes strength and conditioning set. I’m beyond pleased with all the videos, and highly recommend them.

I just wanted to say: Thank you for creating this thread!
I hadnt even heard of foam rollers before, and after reading everything everyone has said decided to buy one almost a week ago, and its already my best friend. Its wonderful for my poor legs, and when I use it on my back it pops it nearly everytime becides reducing some of the knots. I just picked up the golds gym one from walmart, its cheeper then most of them online I think (paid $15) Im totally with Sassafrassle with the IT band, worst enemy there but it hurts so good. 🙂
Ive just use the litte guide that came with my roller and looking up some YT videos. But I do have a question for someone who has more experiance with them. Is there a good way of getting at your inner thigh (esp the upper part) I havent been able to find any videos or anything on that part of my leg. Any tips?
