For anyone with trouble gripping brass Xpole
Posted by GG357 on November 30, 2011 at 2:39 pmSo, I took a big fat risk and had my brass Xpole 45 powder coated. It grips like a mother f’er now! The brass seemed like it was slowly getting better, but I am not really patient. I had I done in a chrome color and they even put some glitter in it for me, $80.

This last pic is with a strat dog we picked up last week, gypsy, she’s taking a little nap on the stage. Anybody want a husky from Alaska?

You can powder coat an xpole? How do you do that? I need some help, my chrome is slippery!

I just took it down to the local powder coating shop, easy as pie. They had every color and finish I could ever dream of!

I left the bottom piece on the pole and brought the joint with me to show the guy at the shop how the pole works. He just taped off the bottom part and plugged the holes used for adjusting the joint.

Where would I find a place that does powder coating? At a local hardware store like a home depot?

Thank you for posting pics, it’s beautiful!!! I love the glitter! I need to find a shop that does that in my area.

Powder coating is typically done by auto shops that specialize in customizations. Even body shops might know of someone in your area.
I will say though that powder coating can and will rip your skin especially when it is warm. Learning to grip for things like spins is very different.

I got so fed up with my brass X Pole that I just packed it away and ordered my Platinum Stage brass pole! No grip problems now!
However, this is a GREAT idea! I love it! How much was it to get it done?
A pink glittery pole is definitely worth unpacking my xpole for!
