yeah I had mispoke on the names of the poles I'm comparing, One is X stage light and the other is Platimum stages, and Platinum don't secure the pole in the stage,,as in you can pick it right up out the stage,

If you’re looking for security, I would go with the x-stage. Free standing poles always have some give since they aren’t attached to anything on top, but an x-stage will not tip over. It may be noisier, but that’s because it’s made of sturdier, more heavy materials. The only plus to an SSA is the quietness. But I’d pick a sense of security over that any day.

I also want to add if you're worried about noise of the xstage base, my experience has been that you can compensate for it somewhat just by stepping lightly and coming down out of tricks with control. Moreover, if you're in any kind of large performance venue the music is probably going to be loud enough that any minor noise isn't going to be any more distracting than the inevitable skin screech or what have you.

Thank you everyone for your input, I just placed my order for the X stage lite,,,will get it on Friday and I could not be more excited, Took me months to save up the money,
