Hey Veeners!
My lovely boyfriend totally surprised me with a GoPro Hero3 for Christmas 🙂
I had mentioned once that I might try to get one with a gift certificate if they went on sale during boxing week, but beyond that, I never really thought I’d buy myself one realistically – so I didn’t really think about how exactly I wanted to use it!
So… obviously I want to use it for some cool pole stuff! I like to travel but don’t foresee any trips in the near future, so that’s another topic.My questions to you: Any of you Veeners have a GoPro? Do you use it for pole (if not, what do you use it for – just out of curiousity)? What do you recommend for accessories? I’ve read a bit about different filters, but I think I’ll reserve that purchase until I plan to travel because they seem to be most useful in underwater or bright light/glare scenarios. Any suggestions on which mount I should get? I have been thinking about the jaw clamp mount because it seems like it might be the most versatile, especially since my primary useage will be pole vids. Does anyone use it for photos more than videos? I took one photo to trial and it looks like a fish-eye lens effect – cool but not sure if I’ll always want that! I think I had it out of the casing when I did that so maybe that changes things…
Anyway – any advice/tips/comments would be great! 😀 -

I hope you get some responses to this. I know that a few Veeners posted clips using their GoPro. My husband has one that he uses for his Motorcycle track days, but I haven’t used it yet. One of these days I will have to try it. Have fun!

Yea GoPro! I got a GoPro in November. I use it while boating, snorkeling, diving. It’s great! For Christmas, I got the doggies harnesses so I plan to put it on the dogs to see life from their perspective. Most of my filming seems to be of the dogs on the beach. I do have plans to use it for pole, but that will be a while because I am shy. (-; I do recommend the jaws clamp mount. At first I thought I wouldn’t want the suction cup mount, but have since changed my mind and just purchased it. I am learning a lot about camera settings and battery life. I have experience in video editing and creating videos in general but I am new to the camera. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube. It is awesome!
