Grip Tease Poles
Posted by azblanco on September 22, 2012 at 9:11 pmHello!
There is a company in Australia that makes sleeves for poles that they call grip tease.. Anastasia and Jenye have used them…
Is this the common material that is used on chinese poles?
This company custom fits the sleeve to your pole. They say that it doesnt matter if you sweat or have any lotion on and that you will not slip on it…
Wondering if anyone knows if that is true.
Any info you may have would be great!PersianXcursian replied 11 years, 10 months ago 8 Members · 15 Replies -

I know that they are ridiculously expensive! There was another thread about this when they first surfaced but I cannot seem to find it now.
The material that they are using is a silicone squishy type of material. If you have ever seen/felt the silicone cases they have for cell ohones, this is the same stuff. I am not sure how you would even clean this and I think after a very short time it is going to look really nasty. On top of that forget doing any kind of spin.

Here is the thread: https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/50182b57-6e78-43ca-a005-71130ac37250
Chinese poles I believe use neoprene which is similar to a wet suit material.

Thank you Chemmie!
I can where that make total sense about doing spins!
And yes, I think they are charging like 350$ to fit it on your own pole and promoting that you buy an xpole from them and then fit the sleeve…
Thank you for the link about the chinese pole. I really just wanted to know for my own knowledge 🙂
Thanks again -
Ah wrote back before looking at the link! Spoke too soon because everything I just said was already mentioned
Thats what i get for not searching the forum 🙂 -
If you are looking for a pole sleeve that is amazing and also goes on and off, check out PoleSleeves (polesleeves.com). I hear they have an amazing grip and the best part is they are not permanent. And they are based in the US – much cheaper for many of us!

My friend is in the advertising video for pole sleeves and she said they are amazing. I'm purchasing one soon.

I really want one of these (the pole sleeve) and would order it today if I didn't have to wait 4-6 weeks. By then it will be almost summer and I won't need it so much.
Besides improved grip, I want to pole in clothes…

Maybe they have some in stock that they could ship out sooner? Doesn’t hurt to ask I think. I can’t wait to order mine! I hear great things.

Jivete…..I remember a video of Karol Helms a couple of years back where she was poling in jeans. I believe she used gorilla gold grip or someone used the gorilla gold grip towel on the pole. You might want to check into that. I'll see if I can find the video and message you.

The video I think was after her first USPDF appearance and she was at the after party at a bar.

Ha!!! That’s funny that you remember it too chem!!! I found it and messaged the link to her.

I think in the comments she said she had used butterfly balm, which was something one of the companies was working with Jenyne on (putting her name on it for marketing).
But I have also seen David Owen do a jade wearing jeans. But then again, he is a freak of nature (in the best possible way).
Yeah, I have been around way too long. I think that was the year that a bunch of Veeners had a pole up in one of the hotel rooms.

I contacted the guy from Pole Sleeves and he said that they are made from a rubber latex material. So…if you allergic to latex that might be a problem.

$350 for gripetease is too much a rip!! How much are pole-sleeves? I was on the site and don’t see pricing option….
-
@Mechie: they are $250 as the base price (it goes up for taller poles) and there is a $25 shipping fee.
