    Hi Hoho,
We use ordinary men’s shaving cream – I personally use Gillette shaving Gel as I find its the stickiest. You only need a small amount, just enough to make your skin slightly tacky.
    Have fun!

Thank you so much! I tried the Gilette gel this morning with an unreasonably cold pole and loved the results. Tack without impeded motion. No longer will a frightfully chilly studio be my slick nemesis. And, I loved the jaunty scent…it went beautifully with my 6" stiletto boots.

I genuinely appreciate the heads up on this.

Check out Bobbi TV. They talked about aid grips and one is the Shaving cream by Gillette mentioned by Allegra.

No worries Hoho, glad you had good results. I actually use women’s Gillete shaving gel which has a berry scent so I don’t smell like a dude – its great if you can get it! Keep rocking the pole babe. X

On another note, be aware that having dry skin can work against you. I lotion my entire body religiously every day (yes you read that right). I shower at night so most of it is rubbed off by the time I get on the pole the next day and it never causes problems for me but keeps my skin from feeling like paper (which slides!). Also, being sweaty is part of grip, if you are too dry you won’t be able to grip either!

I have this problem!! my legs are SUPER dry. sometimes i forget to put lotion on the night before or i feel like it just doesnt help and with a cold pole it is a PAIN. I’ve bought mighty grip extra tacky for my thighs cause i feel like that is the main problem. but if its gets on my hands it makes a wetness after 10 mins of practice. so i just didnt feel like it was good. I saw some people were useing this:
    cramers firm grip
    here is what i bought:

just spend $35 on two spray bottles so i hope it works good! anyone else use this….? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have…I refer to it as "superglue in a can"!

VERY tacky and very difficult to remove from your skin. From my experience it’s impossible to spin once you use it. It can be removed from the pole with rubbing alcohol but not from your skin.

Also as it dries, it leaves a coating that actually makes it difficult to grip. Think of hairspray…if you spray it on a surface it’s sticky when it’s wet but after it dries it leaves a dull finish that can be slick. However, since Cramers doesn’t wash off well, you’re stuck with it. ALso if you get it wet again, it becomes tacky again.

Now…the same product comes in a paste. If you want a SUPER grippy product, that doesn’t dry, try the paste. It’s like an ointment (not really a creamy paste) and therefore it stays sticky since it doesn’t dry out. Again…it’s very difficult to remove and inhibits spins.

thank you for the tips ! hopefully it will come in time before vegas so i have time to experiment with it. how long do you think i have before it dries? i find with mighty grip its like a 6-10 mins super grip time https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I’d say about the same amount of time…around 10 minutes or so.

I’ve found that alcohol works pretty well for me. I’ve tried the Might Grip and similar products, and while I find them great for inverts, I feel like I’m stuck to the pole when I try spinning. I’ll wipe the pole down with alcohol, then I’ll rub some on the palms of my hands and anywhere else that my skin will come into contact with the pole. I told myself that I didn’t want to become reliant on the Mighty Grip stuff, but when I went to the studio the other day and the instructor told me that they’d run out of rubbing alcohol, I almost panicked, lol.
