Grips
Posted by SarahAnn1234 on May 4, 2014 at 1:31 pmHi Everyone ๐
This has probably been asked before but I can’t see it on the first few pages. I am wondering what grip you guys use? I’ve got the chrome 45mm xpert xpole and I find that my hands can get quite clammy and I end up sliding a little. I’ve seen there are a few different ones but wanted to get some reviews before buying.
Thanks

At first, I thought you talked about “grip grips” like twisted grip, cup grip and so on, until you wrote “before buying”. ๐
I use Dry Hands from Nelson Sports Products, but if I need like.. a super strong one, I use just a little bit of iTac2 Pole dancing sports grip, which has the effect of super glue I think, haha. It makes your skin hurt like hell (to say it nice), because of the glue like effect, but it WORKS. I rarely use it though, since the Dry Hands works perfectly for me most of the times.

I use iTac2. I love it although as Cecillie has pointed out, it does hurt like hell sometimes. I use it sparingly all over my body and it helps me not to slide all over. I’m going to buy more once I run out of my first batch. I highly recommend it.

For sweaty hands and body try Dirty Girl Poletice or dry hands.

If I have sweaty hands that are a problem then I use solid antiperspirant from the dollar stores. The Arm & Hammer one I have now has a bit of grip too but not as bad as itac. Give it a try for 99รยข

As these girls have mentioned iTac is great if you REALLY want to stick. I only use it for holding poses and not for spins (made that mistake once and thought my wrist might break lol). I’ve recently tried out the dewpoint+mighty grip mixture here http://youtu.be/jgvvc2uvcFw
and I like that so far for a good balance (I do not have sweaty hands though). -
I use a bit of itac on my knee pits and inner thighs for stick. On my hands, which are very sweaty, I use Dry Hands in winter, but in summer I need more sweat control and use either Dirty Girl or Tite Grip an hour before and then a little Dry Hands during class if needed. I put Tite Grip on my feet too for really warm days.

I bought a sample pack like this when I was trying to figure out what grip aids worked for me. I have a stainless steel pole and I mostly need grips aids because it’s extremely slippery. I use Itac2 and Cramer’s firm grip on thighs and knee pit for the slipperiness, and I use Mighty Grip on my hands occasionally if they are a little slippery.

Thanks for all the replies. I will have a look and see what I can find over here. I never thought about using a antiperspirant, don’t know if I have seen any solid ones before though but I’ll have a look around.
I’m not sure its grip problems I have with my thighs, more that they are not firm enough and trying to grip kills that much that I need to let go…I am hoping that gets easier in time ๐

@grayeyes thanks for the link to the sample pack. That’s an awesome idea to see what works best ๐
