    Hi there!

I was wondering if I could please ask you for some advice?

I am wanting to enter NZAPP this year so looking at ways of training for the comp, but in order to feel really confident I want to improve my physique.

I was wondering do you have any tips/advise in terms of training or nutrition to get increased muscle definition and lower my bf% so I look stage ready in time for my comp, My goal is to achieve an amazing athletic physique, as well as increase my muscular strength for pole.

I would love to hear from anyone who can help!

    Kind regards

    shan

I’m sure others could give you more advice because I don’t know so much about nutrition, but when you say you want to increase muscle definition, then you should probably not include too much carbs in your diet. It binds a lot of water. From what I understand, when someone want that “ripped” look, they need to get rid of water to make the muscles show more. My personal love for candy and crisps is probably the reason why my abs have never really shown lol, even though I don’t include much carb in the food I’m eating.

However, most stage ready you’ll probably be with a routine that you like to perform 🙂

So in looking at the comp info, entries are already open and the comp is in about 3 months. I might suggest looking into bodybuilder prep. The only way you will get definition is to drop your body fat but at the same time you need to feed yourself properly as training for a comp will be pushing your body to limits. Last thing you need is your body to quit on you because you have not fueled it properly. This is a really good blog by Amy. If you want that definition you really need to cut down on processed food. Notice I did not say cut out fats or cut calories or even get rid of carbs. Foods labelled “diet” or “low calorie” many time do more damage and create more bloat than their full counterparts. I might also suggest looking into the Clean Eating books

Anyway, here is bog by Amy: http://aerialamy.com/blog/2012/09/13/pardon-have-you-seen-my-6-pack/
