HELP!! What did I do wrong??
There is the cracked ceiling ring of death around the dome of my pole!! Its a popcorn ceiling and I guess I put too much stress on the pole? I don't know when it happened, but what do I do?? I'm going to take my pole down and check the damage.. Is there a way I can reposition it to make that not happen again? Did I tighten the pole too much? I had the same thing happen to me. I think I tightened the pole too much. I have since put a board between my pole and ceiling to distibute the weight more evenly. Don’t know how safe that is but have done that for the last few months and no issues so far.

Did you use a stud finder? The pole needs to be placed directly under the stud/joist. And yes, do not over tighten.
