I've been trying for the past 6months to get the handspring. I finally, FINALLY was able to do it the other day. I'm unable to load the video from my phone so here is the link:

My only problem is that I cannot always get it and I fall out of it when I'm trying to push upwards like my beginning attempt in the video above. I was wondering if that will become less frequent with practice or if I was doing something wrong that you girls/guys could correct.

Also is there another way to do this a little more gracefully. I have tried to do the handspring where you swing your outside leg in a large circle and I'm currently unable to get my hips to rotate into position. I can get myself up high, like REALLY high but I don't have the core/oblique strength to stop, hold, or rotate at the moment.

I also apologize for all the screaming at the end of the video. I was so excited I didn't know what to do and all I could manage to get out was this girly scream.

Congrats!  I can't see the video from this computer (work blocks videos), but you will def get better as you get stronger.  I actually did it first on my dominant side, then went to the other side and was much better.  The basic thing for me with handspring is getting the tension right.

I'll watch your vid later and give you pointers if you need them… but yay!!!!!!
