Happy to Be Here!
I started pole earlier in 2012 and have been absolutely enamored with it ever since! I’m on the east coast of FL and I live near a GREAT studio that’s full of fun and inspiring women. I have a background in gymnastics and bjj, but I love how pole challenges me and I’d LOVE to try silks!
I stumbled across StudioVeena while watching YouTube videos and I’m so happy to have found such a great place to share stories and get advice.
What I love most about pole is that it’s very accessible and the people that I’ve met are all extremely encouraging. We support each other and have our own goals.
I’ve got the adv plank, CAR, CKR, figurehead, inside/outside leg hand, butterfly, bow and arrow, Allegra, rocket man, flag, and others pretty much down.
I’m working on twisted ballerina (I’ve got it, by I want to extend my back leg some more and make it more fluid), shoulder mount (I can shoulder v mount from the floor and shoulder dismount), caterpillar climb, etc.
The one thing I really want to improve on is overall fluidity and being able to put things together. I don’t have a good enough working knowledge to do good choreography yet, and my improv time usually ends up with me tying to work on one or two moves. Gotta get more creative!
I’ll try to post videos of what I’m working on, and I’d love input and advice.
Thanks guys!
