    Hi all,
I’ve been looking into a portable pole so that my friends and I can bring our pole fun outside and on the road (currently, the only time we get any outside-pole time is when we all go to the playground with my friend’s 5 year old daughter). There’s 4 of us, and I’m trying to figure out a cost-effective solution that’s still safe – currently it’s between the XStage Lite and the RPole. We’re in the US, where there aren’t very many RPoles (it’s a UK product), so it’s been a bit hard for us to compare products.

Has anyone tried the RPole, or better still, both the RPole and Xstage Lite? I’d love to know how they compare in stability. I’ve only ever been on an original Xstage and an Xstage lite. It looks like one of the advantages of the RPole is that it doesn’t have the heavy weights for the base. It does not have a spin mode, but that’s totally fine for what we’d want to use it for.

Thank you all so much in advance! Any information would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Hi, I haven’t tried the rpole but I did research it before I got my xstage lite.

If you have Instagram there are a few videos under the rpole tag that show the pole stability and even a few from studios that use both the rpole and xstage lites.

From what I found in the UK the rpole is more expensive than the xstage lite but from comparison videos the rpole isn’t as stable, it wobbles a lot more and seems to lift slightly if someone does a spin with a lot of momentum.

The advantage though is that one person could carry the rpole quite easily as its so much lighter than the Xstage.

RPoles are prohibitively expensive if you are in the US. Last time I checked it was going to be about $1800 with shipping.

I have an R pole and an Xstage lite. The xstage is more stable but quite heavy. The rpole is a great compromise between stability and portability. I can carry the rpole in a backpack on my bicycle for several miles (I do not own a car). I do not know of any other free standing pole that you can do that with. You learn to adapt to its stability. It also only takes a couple of minutes to assemble. When I want the best stability the xstage is great, but needs a car to transport it. It’s horses for courses.

It looks amazing! I didn’t know it. I think it is perfect for carrying it around for photoshootings, I could actually take pictures in the mountains. Considering it now…thank you for tip! 🙂

In the gallery on the rpole website there is a brilliant picture of someone poling on top of a mountain (Ben Nevis)
