Still in the beginner section so a lot of you may have to think way back…

I cannot yet get my head off the ground into an elbow stand, is it ok to practice a tripod to build up strength? Will that get me where I need to go?

you’d prob be better off doing things like downward dogs or dolphins (from yoga) to build up arm andcore strength. The other might help a bit, but unless you do it right tripods can put a lot of strain on your neck

Thanks for replying. I’ve been perusing the forum for as much info as I can get about learning the elbow stand. How do you feel about gaining the strength coming into a handstand from an inversion.

As far as I know your head CAN be touching the ground during an elbowstand, but you mustnt be putting any weight on it

It’s actually easier for me to do the hand stand then head stand? Anybody else?

headstands use some different muscles than handstands… i can feel the difference and it makes sense that some may feel one is easier than another.
i’m sure there are some yoga vids on youtube that can explain better than i can.

DO be careful with the headstands because if done too frequently with excessive weight on the head, the neck can get hurt.
