Here are some healthy snack ideas!!

    Hummus and Carrot sticks

    1oz of nuts (handful)

    Peanut Butter and Celery

    Apples and Sharp Cheddar cheese

    Chocolate pudding (1 serving)

Chips and Fresh salsa (not jarred this tends to have a lot of sodium)

Torilla, sliced apples with peanut butter rolled up (cut in half and share)

Dried Figs cut in half, touch of cream cheese, then wrapped with Prosciutto 4 is a serving but don't over do the cream cheese!!

So those are a few of my ideas….the Figs are sooo yummy I made them for my family over the holidays, they make a great appetizers!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I got a magic bullet as a wedding gift from one of my lovely girl friends https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif and I have to say I just absolutely LOVE it!  It's been an amazing quick snack fixer.  I can make instant fresh salsa without onions (I have an onion allergy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif) and fresh guacamole.  I can also make healthy instant fruit smoothies.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Another great snack idea for after workouts with protein are tuna & crackers.  Hummus is actually very simple and easy to make with the magic bullet blender as well.  And the protein value is excellent.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Great ideas!! I like to take some preservative free turkey slices and wrap them around veggies. All color bell peppers, different greens, green onions. Very yummy and you can spread some hummus on the turkey to keep them all rolled up pretty. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Chips and salsa are my favorite! Adding to veena's idea i often make my own chips because they too can be high in sodium.   I take whole wheat wraps cut them up brush a little bit of olive oil on them and sprinkle a little chili or garlic powder on (no sodium stuff of course)

Use hummus instead of mayo on sandwiches.

Use plain greek yogurt as sour cream or for things that require a lot of mayo like potato salad.

Blend greek yogurt (plain or flavored), favorite fruit, unsweetended cocoa, and a tad of honey or agave  if using plain and freeze into pops for later.  My fav is vanilla greek yogurt, raspberry, and cocoa

Edamame – just don't add much salt use other spices to help.

Nachos Semi healthy- A favorite in my house that substitutes ready made ingredients for  fresher ones.  Homemade tortilla, Pico de gallo, beans (if from can rinse well), corn,  avocado,  plain greek yogurt, jalapeno

Oats – Good oats take some time to cook, but i just  cook some up every few days and reheat portions as needed  add a little soy milk (regular low fat milk is fine too) and some frozen berries or fresh fruit.

Frozen grapes – let them thaw for a couple of minutes so they aren't rock hard and they're delicious!

In winter – roasted chestnuts! less fatty than nuts and yum.

I mix 0% fat yoghurt or low fat yoghurt with 1 or 2 teaspoons of pesto and a little pepper or chopped herbs and dip crudettes in.

Baked apples on a cold day. Just core it and bang it in the oven it's like apple sauce.

Boiled egg white (I take out the yolk and give it to my bf's ferrets because I dont like it) then I sometimes fill the center with a little sun-dried tomato paste.

    Those are my favourites.
