Please tell me I am not the only person who has completely spaced out and forgot to hold onto the pole!!!!!

I was doing an inverted thigh hold and somehow, for some reason, I just let go LMAO!!  I don't know if I took the wrong leg off or just took both legs off?!

My chin took the brunt of the impact and the rest of me just kind of crumpled around without injury.  I looked in the mirror and expected to see blood, but everything was still in tact, so all I could do was laugh!!

My hubby came home and I couldn't hide the shifty grin on my face and he's wondering what is up with me and then starts laughing when he figured me out and says – Why is your chin all lumpy . . . and turning purple?!  You fell off your pole, didn't you?!!   LMAO

Needless to say, I have finally developed my healthy fear of the pole, along with a sore chin.

I still feel so dumbstruck about how it happened.  Appartently, I was so into the music that I forgot the first rule of pole safety – um, don't let go when your dangling in air – yes, it's kinda like flying, but that doesn't mean you can float in mid air LOL

I have to say this hasn't happened to me yet, but I can actually see how it could! Sometimes I'm concentrating so hard on one thing I may not be paying attention to what I'm doing elsewhere… must always remember to grip with something!

Your fall sounds pretty bad, I hope you're not in too much pain. Make sure you get it checked out if you think it could be anything worse than bruising, a fracture on your chin or jaw could be quite nasty.

Have no fear MommaBear! Last week I was inverted and the entire strap of my shoe snapped – I looked and let go with my leg and down I went! Landed on my shoulder blade and hit my head. LOL – I must have looked like a lunatic. The worst part about it was that it happened on my Birthday. Great gift to give myself……HUH?!?!?!

When I felt the pop on my ankle I was worried it was actually my ankle – Thank goodness it was just an old shoe breaking.

I hope your chin feels better soon    :o)

Momma…I am sitting and eating my lunch and laughing at you.  Yeah, you heard me right.  Well, maybe with you too.  And yes, I have done this.

OMG, I am SOOOO relieved I am not the only one!!!  I can totally see that happening with the shoe distraction – your all busy looking at your shoe and surveying the damage and BAM – but your fall sounds a lot worse than mine.  Ouch!!

I don't think I did any substantial damage – it turned purple almost instantly that day, but already it's back to normal color (and this was just yesterday).  The swelling is gone and you can only tell it's lumpy if you run your fingers across it.

Of all the times to NOT tape my practices!!!!  Go figure!!

And just so no one gets on me….I know Momma personally.  She knows I mean no harm in my comment.

Speaking of shoe mishaps, I have gotten the laces from one boot caught on the hoops of the other boot (not fun), I have gotten my laces caught on someone else's boot loops and gotten my fishnets caught in the my loops.  Pretty much every one of these required a very thought out escape.

I just have to say, love the thread title 😀

Hope your face is feeling better soon, I have had a couple of wee injuries but try not to think about it or I get 'the fear'

Like you said – this has helped you develop a healthy sense of fear so it has served its purpose. Thankfully it wasn`t anything serious. I`ve had something very similar happen to me so I totally relate to your experience. Hope all is well now!

Here's a post i've done almost a year ago, feel free to laugh at me…i have learn my lesson now.

Last night i decide to pole a little bit just for fun and at some point to improvise some moves. So i went in invert and start to do stuff( don't really know what) it went well for the first 2 moves than I just went flat on my face https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif. It took me almost a minute to get up and go put an icepack on it because it hurt really bad. I think I had left my brain somewhere because there we're a bunch of warning sign and i just did it anyway. For a beginner it's always a trill to think of something new and we wish we could be as good as the more advance.

So here a few tips to respect at all time.
-Don't try to go faster than you should, there's a reason you're a beginner…you just begin.
-When trying a new move make sure you know how it's done and pratice safely (like invert = handstand)
-Keep cushion, pillow, anything under you to help the landing if a fall happen.
-And the most important thing I've learn (yes I've been told before) In all time, keep in mind a way to fall safely because it will happen at some point and it can happen with a move you're confortable with.

This morning the side of my left eye is a little sensitive but lucky for me no black eye https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_blackeye.gif, would be cute to my cousin wedding in a few days. My ego have a bigger bruise https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gifand it's hard for me to share this with you but I really care about you guys and don't want you to be as STUPID as have been. And I swear I will respect the warning sign from now on.

Remember safety first, you won't be able to pole if you hurt yourself

Definitely not the only one!!  It happened to me a couple weeks ago ALSO on the inverted thigh hold.  I am really still not sure why I fell.  I am thinking I slipped, but I also think I may have accidentally taken the wrong leg off the pole.  Woops!!  Either way, I went down and I got my hands down to help break the fall, but needless to say my mouth took the brunt of it!  I apparently bit down so hard on my lower lip just below where the lip ends, that not only did I get a huge fat lip (it grew over an inch that night….sexy!) that I actually had bruise marks in the shape of my teeth just below my lip!  It would have to be qualified as the most bizarre bruise I have ever gotten!  Anyways, you can still feel the bumps in the muscle that goes around the lips 🙁  It truly leaves me thinking…if a boy kisses me (its the muscle known as the kissing muscle), will he feel the bumps????
