Hello from Mn
Hi everyone! Recently I came across pole dancing, saw it as an art immediately and wanted to learn. My boyfriend is sooo narrow minded. He still see it as a stripper thing and when I told him I wanted a pole he said no right away without even thinking it through. I live with him so I basically need the ok to put a pole in the room. I’m so bummed out but I am still determine to learn! Can everyone else give me feedback on how long it took them to learn? I’d really like to know! Thanks!!!

Everyone learns at different rates – some people pick it up instantly and others take a while to get a new move. Either way, there are frustrations and excitements, you get bruises but you get fit, overall it’s a great ride! Hey I’m in Minnesota too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Are you planning on taking classes anywhere? I have been taking some classes in Minneapolis, and a new studio just opened in Eagan and I’m gonna check them out too.
Pole dancing does not equal stripping. It is becoming a sport, and will probably be in the Olympics in the near future. It’s hard to get rid of the stigma that goes along with it, but it is an art that requires a lof of strength, grace, and agility. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful forms of dance to watch.
