Hello there in S-V-Land,
My name is Catherine Rose. I am the Owner of Slinky Productions, a small and very cool little school that teaches exotic and pole dancing in the SF Bay Area (since 2000.) http://www.slinkyproductions.com
I have been pole dancing since 2003, and exotic dancing since…before 1989 (yep- you read that right!) Worked as an exotic dancer for many years from 18 to 31. I did very sexy dancing and gyrating around the pole, but no aerial stuff or fancy swings until after I became an Exotic Dance Instructor.
My dance background/training includes modern/jazz dance, belly dance, aerial dance (mostly low flying single point trapeze. I am now very passionate about AcroYoga (acrobatic & partner yoga.) Been doing traditional yoga off and on for 18 years and recently got back to a consistent practice. I am also very invlolved in the local dance communities such as Ecstatic Dance, Dance Jam and Sweat your Prayers. I do contact improv-it is just like pole dancing but with a person and you don”t grip them with your hands as much.
I love performing and am still learning new tricks that have recently (to me) emerged in the last few years. (Although I’ve researched most moves to have originated from Chinese Pole.) I am really strong but sometimes a slow (and thorough learner.) I hope to learn the Ayesha & Pencil (did it once) the gnarly knee hold grippy move, and the cartwheel to handstand. These are my goals, so I will be posting soon and hope to be expanding my repertoire in S-Veena Land. Not to hoot my horn, but I am a pretty great teacher so i will be keeping an eye out on any of your moves that I have already mistressed so I can be of help.
I call myself a responsible hedonist and work hard to stay healthy and somewhat balanced in my life.
