I just bought a pole off Craigslist. I’m not sure what kind or how to instal it which would probably be helpful if I knew the brand to look up the manual. Does anyone know what I should look for on that. It’s nine feet tall static and spin the base have two x’s on them? Any help

Sounds like an xpole xpert. Google how to install your xpole. Look for the vid that is by xpole us. You can also go to xpoles website & call them & they can probably email you install instructions.

You might have an older version of the xpole. Can you take a video of the pole pieces & post it here? that might help us here help you identify it. But your best bet is probably to call xpole tomorrow, they should be able to help you.

How much did you pay for the pole?  To my knowledge XPoles only have ONE X on the base.  Does it have a white strip on the dome with a serial number?

My xpole has two X's on the base, because you need to tighten it in both sides, to swtich from static to spin. Mine is bought of Xpole and has serial number and everything. It sounds like an xpole 🙂

Sorry…I was picturing a XStage in my head when I typed that.  That is what I get for answering something before I have a full cup of coffee in my system!

I do know however that the knock off poles also have Xs.  Look at Lyme's photos.

Well it’s got a white/clear stripe around the dome to help seal it. I haven’t looked for numbers there weren’t n e on the dome. I paid 100 the lady said she paid 500 but she moved and could take it in her car. So she could have lied or I or a great deal if I could only instal it

Itsounds like you ahve an original x pole, which is really easy to install. You need to know your ceiing height. For a standard ceiling, connect the tiny coupler with the two screws to the smallest pole piece. Next attach the two larger pieces, with the one with the smaller opening on top. The big ass screw piece, that goes into the top of the assempled pole. Place the entire pole piece onto the base and tighten the two screws in line with the x's. Put the dome on the top of the pole, put it upright. Extend the big screw rod to make the pole semi tight to the ceiling. Level the pole, tighten the pole more, test it by shaking it, then put the big nut down flush with the top of the pole.

It COULD be a fake,  but it may not be. Is the dome metal? is there a serial # on the dome?

Yes dome is metal I haven’t been able to look where would I find that. It has an extension I believe bc it fit nine ft but I can take part of it off to put in my house

It’s already put together the pole part is I just don’t know how to hook it to the dome and base I know I probably sound like an idiot. When I put it up to attach to the ceiling how am I suppose to tighten it to apply pressure

It would be extremely helpful if you could take pictures and post them.  You stated that you watched the XPole video but it did not look like your pole.  Without knowing what kind of pole you have it is really hard for us to help you out with the install.

For the original x pole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HotUDsm0wiY

she extends the adjuster rod with a wrench that sometimes came with the x pole, but not always. If you don't have it, you can use your hand or putting one of the chopsticks in the hole and the top and turning.
