Hey guys I’ve been really trying to improve my pole work on spinny mode (xpole 50mm). Whoever says spinny mode is easier is just wrong I feel I need a ton more strength!
Anyway I do suffer alot from dizziness so I take veena’s advise and only do a little at a time but my problem is a i feel my pole is too spinny! I watch other people’s videos and my spins well more than that, even if I don’t push at all from the ground it still spins loads. It is a new pole and maybe that has something to do with it, but I’ve tried not unscrewing the screws too far to see that creates some tension – it doesnt.
I understand the whole coming close to pole spins faster moving away slows you down but for example if im doing plank its still spinning loads and I’ve seen in people’s videos when they’re climbing it just does a nice slow spin, whereas i feel im going to fly off haha! 🙁
    any suggestions??

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with your pole, it's supposed to spin easily. (Actually, from what I've read some other brands spin even more easily than x-poles). DON'T half-tighten the screws in the way you are describing, it will finally tear them down and destroy them! What you need is more practise and technique to give the pole the momentum that you want. It seems to be always like that, that when you're a beginner on spin mode you always find the pole spinning either too fast or too slow. But like I said, it's a technique thing and YES, as you already noticed, spinny requires a whole lot of more strength than static. Even if you don't push off the ground so much, you may be giving the pole a good momentum anyway depending on your body positioning. It's always easier to give advice if you upload a video! I'm positive you'll find this easier with more practise!

As LIna Siralyne mentioned, videos are very helpful for actual troubleshooting. Keep those screws free, you don't want to create friction to try and slow the spin.

Practice, practice and more practice! Work on your body position to the pole, shifting your weight in moves and how you initiate the start of the move. With time and practice you will become comfortable with the momentum. I remember somoene once explained to me that on Static pole the focus is about creating momentum in the moves and on Spinning pole the focus is on holds since the pole is moving.

    Have fun with it!!! 🙂

There is probably nothing wrong with your pole. You could double check to make sure the pole is tight enough. Mine spins very freely too and I don't need much push to end up flying around!! It takes time to learn control. Try to imagine dragging your arms, legs and body through water, moving slooowly onto the pole. Every pole will spin a bit differently so it's good to test out any pole you haven't used before doing tricks on spinny.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Ok I really concentrated on spinny pole today as much as I could before throwing up haha! I also recorded myself and when I played it back I expected to see myself whizzing round, in actual fact I wasnt going any faster than to be expected! So I guess it is just the way I feel when Im up there haha I feel like if I go any faster ill take off! 😀
    I’ll keep practicing!
