Yikes! I just tried to take my new Xpole down for the first time (I got it a couple weeks ago), and I can’t get the bottom main pole apart from the extension! I tried the "shock" like the instruction manual dictated, but it still won’t come out! Even my super strong boyfriend can’t get it off. My release rods are now bent in half!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif I think part of the problem is that the holes where you put the rods are lined up parallel to each other, not at a 90 degree angle like the instruction manual shows, so laying it on its side isn’t very effective since the rods are lined up perfectly with each other. I have no idea what to do!!! Please help! This pole is too new and expensive to be broken already… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

Sorry to hear about your trouble love! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I haven’t taken my pole down yet. I’ve only had it a few days but I anticipated that I might have problems in the future so when I purchased my pole I also invested in the super release tools! They work great! I used them to tighten my pole when I put it up. You can purchase them from this site! http://www.verticaldance.com/poledancingaccessories.htm

oh don’t panic! this happened to me last week, and my rods bent too lol. its much easier if you loosen each pole b4 you take it down, just like you tighten each when you put it up. if you put the pole back up, it will be easier. loosen the top pole first, holding the pole right beneath the rod. then, loosen the next loxer one, holding the pole….etc till they are all losened.
hope this helps!!! it worked for me so i hope it works for you!!

Uh oh!! I can’t get my base separated from the extension eitha. The super release tools don’t work because you can’t slip the pin thingy all the way through because the base blocks it in the middle. I"m just gonna leave it on for now but I’m sure it may present a problem if I try to take the pole somewhere and put it up if the places ceiling height is different from mine. If you ever get yours off let me know how you achieve it please!!

I wish X pole sent more info with the pole ….When you take the pole down its easiest to loosen all the poles first like Kerrierou mentioned then disassemble the pole…Always start with the smaller pieces first this has seemed to work the best for me.

Again if the poles are stuck brut force wont work well use the shock https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif method. Works like a charm.

One more thing make sure you have cleaned all the oily gunk off the threads BEFORE you put your pole up. If there and oil left of the treads it tends to make them stick. Having the WD40 on the treads will make it much easier to take apart.

Thanks for your help guys… I’ll try your tips. I agree with you Veena that Xpole should send more info with the pole. There’s plenty of info about putting it up, but just a couple paragraphs on the back cover about taking it down!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif I read your article (before I put up the pole for the first time) and followed all the instructions, and like I said I tried the shock method, but that just didn’t work. I read on another forum about using ice and hot water on the male/female parts of the joint, so I’ll give that a try too…. I’ll let you know if it was successful!

Hehe that’s the curse with me and it never fails – as soon as you say something, it happens.

Half the time I just say something from the start so I don’t waste my time trying for so long! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Sounds normal to me. What you just described doing with your guy is the same thing as what we were saying to do to release the tubes, just with 2 people instead. But maybe next time you won’t want to tighten it as much, but maybe by like an eighth of a turn, lol. If you couldn’t get it at all is when I’d start to worry about changing methods. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
