    Hi everyone!

I am hoping that we can all get together and help USPDF ECR finalist Melanie Kady with something.  For those who don't know during her compulsory round she fell from a yogini from about 11 feet in the air.  The injuries she sustained kept her out of work and off the pole for 2 months.  She just found out that her insurance was declined and is now stuck with a $3000 bill.

This is the last thing she needed.  I am hoping we call help her out by contributing even just small donations via paypal to polefitchick@yahoo.com.

This bill has actually made her reconsider auditioning for other competitions due the expense of competing.

Hey guys there is a facebook event for this too.

    Thank you Trixie!!!!!

The thing is it sucks so bad to get into a comp, pay out the travel and costume and etc costs associated to only walk our with a $3,000 bill.  If we can all just pitch in a little I know it would be a big help to her,

She was so amazing though – she got up and FINISHED the routine.  It made me a little teary eyed because I don't think I personally could have at that point.  She was offo of work and pole for 2 months – that's a long time.

I did too.  Thanks Charley.  This brings about an interesting debate on Insurance for athletes in competition.  Many insurance providers do not offer injury coverage when injuries are sustained during sports events.

I was very proud when she stood up and finished her routine!  When she was done I stood up and applauded!  That takes alot of balls to get up and keep going.

Im listed as attending the event, I will be donating.  I would be fighting the insurance company, my husband can injure himself even more at work and hes can have the bill covered.

@Kobajo – performers insurance isn't something any of us think about when we get there to do the competition and I think this is a learning experience.  I am going to look into getting some that's for sure.

@Lulu – I was so stunned she finished, what a pro!!!!!!

I am sure perhaps down the road she might be able to get it covered but you figure it's going to take over a year, she was off of work for 2 months and if she doesn't pay it now the bill just gets bigger with added late fees and charges and continues to hang over head and prevent her from doing other things.
