Help with Cupid
Since you guys helped me with my reverse grab(and it's loads better after trying ur tips), can some one help me with some Cupid tips? I can't even do it holding my leg. My foot just slides down before I can get my hips forward. Any help getting into position? I go from a kind of Gemini invert. I know Aerial Amy does it from a side climb but my side climb is pretty weak.

Once you completely fall away from the pole, your body will hold you there. Try to get completely horizontal. Try to put your body perpendicular w/ the pole.

My form isn't completely perfect here to show you what I mean.I'm still a little upright b/c I'm about to go into the russian split(well I'm working on it lol). I'll make you a tutorial vid later. Push into the pole w/ your bottom foot. Try a lil grip aid if you want on the bottom of your foot the first couple of times to feel comfy in the move. In the vid above I used couch cushions for support in case I fell(I'm fine in the cupid, but not for the russian split lol). My hips slide up just a tad and that's my perfect spot. If they slide too far up, than you'll slide down. Hope that helps:)

I just got the closest I've ever gotten in my Cupid at class the other night. I also prefer getting into it from a Gemini and then reach up. My instructor had me go into a kind of frog leg position to help get my body away from the pole enough to push out my hips. She also told me to make sure my hooked leg formed the number "7". It's not pretty, but it gave me the the chance to see how it feels. Here is a link to my vid. I let go too soon, but at least I was able to get my hips forward enough to start working on perfecting it!

Thanx for the tips! I don't have a preferred way yet, but I'll try the Gemini and then slide down a bit to see where my sweet soot is. Will also try so grip on my foot. Ha
