    Hi Everyone
My name is Anna, I’m a mum to 3 boys aged 10, 6 and 2 years old. I’ve wanted to learn pole dancing for a long time now, but never had a chance as there are no pole studios down here the closest one to where I live is 2 hours away. For my hens party I had a pole dancing party and it was so much fun, my bridesmaids and husband bought me a pole for a wedding present! (which was January this year) so am starting to teach myself. I’m planning on doing monthly private lessons, for assistance with getting moves right ect.

Looking forward to meeting you and sharing videos https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Hi Anna!

I’m in Australia too, in Brisbane.

I highly recommend Jamilla’s DVDs for self-taught polers, and I although I don’t have Veena’s lessons personally I believe they too are amazing. From the demos I’ve seen Veena is wonderful at breaking down moves. She has sooooo many tricks and dance moves from beginners to advanced.

Just a friendly word of warning: I would not recommend just trying to ‘figure it out’ yourself from pictures of videos. Although a lot of people have done this (me included) it nearly always leads to injury, sometimes years down the line, from a long build up of slightly incorrect technique etc. (Me included also, lol! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif )

I wish you the best of luck with all your poling! I can’t wait to see pics and vids https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I’m live on the far south coast of NSW in a small town called Moruya, it’s 1/2 an hour south of batemans bay and about 2 hours north of bega.

MilienElayne, did you get lessons or are you self taught? How long have you been poling for?

georgiamarie, thanks for the advice about learning all by myself, I have planned to go to once a month to get some private lessons just so they can show me what needs work and posture etc. But was also looking at the jamilla dvds and Veenas online classes. How long have you been poling?

    I agree Veena!

I started out ‘self-taught’ and had my pole for a year, but I wasn’t dedicated. I did tricks for photos to show off and my entrances and exits sucked and I could NOT dance (still am pretty bad)… oh and I had put on 15 kilos since high school… so I started classes at the beginning of 2009. So addicted!

I think that lessons will be good to have, is it easier for you now that you’ve had lessons to be able to put things together ino a routine? or even just improvising? I’m looking forward to doing some lessons with a teacher face to face, it’ll be good to have someone there to show me what needs fixing up and how to do things properly, as I’ve mentioned before it’s bout 2 hours from where I live so have rounded up some family and friends to go for private lessons with me once or twice a month. When you were teaching yourself did you get stuck on what moves to learn next? I’ve watched a few of your videos, they are really good https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Dirdybirdy, my sister in law lives in quakers hill and my friend is in marikville, just going over to check out your vids on youtube https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
