Hello!  My name is Dana and I am very excited about starting pole dancing as a fitness routine.  I am happy to find this website/forum to communicate with other pole enthusiasts (professional and amateurs like), so nice to have a comfortable place to share ideas and ask questions.

I am planning on purchasing an Xpole Xpert pole in the coming days (come on tax refund!) and setting it up in our garage.  There are no classes close enough for me so I am getting my own…

Before I had my son nearly 8 years ago, I was 155lbs.  I am 5'10 and currently weigh 215!  It is time to firm up and shed some pounds!

Thanks in advance for advice and encouragement!

    Dana

Hey there, i myself am a newbie here at studioveena xD
Lovely to hear of another enthusiast such as yourself; it really is a wonderful and fun way to get in shape and stay fit. I myself only have a very basic static "polefit pole" being the cheapest of the cheap from ebay but its fine for now whilst im learning and can save for an xpole xpert tooo xD
so lucky to get one at the start…
I also cannot get lessons but i am so enjoying studioveenas lessons =)

I'm not great with advice being quite new to it all myself; only been poling for about 4months or so so far but encouragement i can do aswel as being a fellow poler, its just great to talk to people with the same interest who know what they are talking about and appreciate pole for what it is rather than just the stripper side to things =) not that thats bad, each to our own, just some people can be very judgemental towards us polers xD

ooo ooo oo one bit of advie: do make sure to exercise evenly xP i myself am having problems with major different sizes in biceps… lol.. my bad.. so yes take it easy remember to rest and if you cant feel it at the time… you will tomorrow.. hehe… stay positive and never look back =)

    Where are you from? =)

Wayhey another fairy! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif Welcome along, if you can't attend regular classes I deffo recommend getting Veena's lessons on here once your pole comes. I've learned loads from them and I generally just feel safer having step by step instruction!

Welcome to you too Blue!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

    Hello Beautiful Blue and Polefairy

Thank you for the warm welcome 🙂  I am from Pennsylvania in the USA.

I am planning to check out subscribing to Veena's lessons and have been checking out other lessons on Youtube.  Between the two, I think it will help me to be successful!

And yes, I am planning on starting out slow.  I work from home, and am sedentary way too much.  So I plan on easing into it and doing lots of stretching.  I have a bike which I am planning to get a product for which will make it stationary during this frigid winter!  once Spring is here I will be out and about on it!

    Thanks again!

Hey Dana! Welcome to the forums!

You sound like me- sedentary and work from home 😛 I'm a student, so a lot of my activities are done sitting down, staring at some boring writing and trying to make my brain accept it. Hehe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I also pole from home, and I gotta say…Veena's lessons are one of the best. I've tried out lots (seriously) and they're just about as good as being in a real studio…and you can even ask her questions, in case you're getting stuck on something! As a testament to her excellent lessons…I learned booty popping this morning! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif I've been trying to get it for AGES! Veena has a lesson on it, lol! Seriously, though, there's a lot of stuff in there that's just awesome.

So I hope you have fun here! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
