For my 9ft ceiling I had to order a next piece for my xpole even though it said 7-9 feet for the pole I bought. Once you get above 11 or 12ft you have to go to a single piece pole for safety.

10-foot pole. I could go to 12 if I put it way up in the highest part of the vaulted ceiling but I wasn’t willing to pay for that length of pole and the vault isn’t centered in the room so it wouldn’t be ideal. The 10-foot height is pretty good for me (I’m 5’7″–I can climb a few times and I think I’ve only hit my heel on the ceiling once. I do wish my pole was more centered in my room (it’s in my bedroom) but it would require moving the furniture even more than I already did and my husband wasn’t thrilled about the amount I moved it already. I do fantasize about a big open loft style home with a really high ceiling.

8′ ceiling and I’m 5’8” 1/2, training barefoot. It’s not high but anyway I’ve always found that it works, even though I’m sure I’ve adjusted my pole dancing to it (not doing much drops for example).

But, I’m positive that if I had been the heels-type, then I would have found 8′ too low.

I am 5’8 with a ceiling height just over 8′, I also dance mostly barefoot (guess Lina and I have a lot in common there! lol)

Since training on silks and gaining a straight leg inversion, I have more of a lift in my inverts. I’ve kicked my ceiling many times do to this. Aerial inverts take a lot of adjusting. I often find myself sliding down a bit in crucifix and such to get the position without feeling crunched and my caterpillar climb is more of lifting up and sliding back down once kinda thing lol

I would probably put a hole in the ceiling if I wasn’t careful inverting in heels.

    I would LOVE higher ceilings!!!

@AriFerrari: Yes, and I would also like some more ceiling height 🙂

And if I had wanted to wear heels, I would have gotten problems not only because of low ceilings, but also that I have people living below me and my practises kind of always happen late evenings or even nights. Imagine the noise they would make on a hardwood floor. So that would have forced me to move, change my practising-routines or find myself homeless!

I have 9 foot ceilings with a 9-10 SV pole. Very happy with the results. I have pictures of the install on my page.

8’9″. and its connected to the support beam on my faulted ceiling. So I have some more space for a straight edge next to the pole. I would love to have a taller one, but for Hawaii they won’t ship anything over 10″

9’9″ and I’m totally spoiled. The studio I go to has 8′ ceilings and I’m aways kicking the ceiling. Oops.

I have a space that’s 11 1/2 and 12 feet high ceilings. Just ordered a permanent Mount.for it. I know I have to buy extenstions for my 40 mm. I heard a single long pole is more safe for that high but I wanted to try it with the pole I have now BC I love it. Hope it doesn’t bow too badly and become unsafe. I hope it works out I’m getting nervous =\
