How Do I Creat Still Photos from a Video on Ipad?

I just got a new Ipad and I've never used apple products previously. I find it to be maddeningly unintuitive. Is there a simple way to save a still image from a video? Thanks!

I’ve done this before by just pausing the video then taking a screenshot (press the home button and power button at the same time).

Yes, what Dream said…

pause the video where you want to take the picture (you can pick the spot better if you hold and drag the scrubber), then press the home and power button at the same time. You should see a flash and it takes a picture of the screen. Make sure once you get it to the sit you want, you touch the screen (or just wait a few seconds) so the bars at the top and bottom of the screen disappear.

The screenshot pic is saved in Photos on IPad. If I want to crop it, must I send the pic to my laptop to use the software? Does iPad do cropping?

You can crop it on the ipad. Select the photo and choose 'edit' at the top of the screen. The 'crop' button will appear at the bottom along with some other options.

Can we upload from mobile devices? My iphone immediately shuts me down but i haven’t tried my iPad!

I don't think mobile uploading is supported as of yet. I have tried from my iphone and ipad but it doesn't let me! Total bummer because my camera battery died and I did my "Bringing Sexy Back"/July Challenge on my ipad :o(
