I am a new owner of a pole dancing studio and want to make it the best I can. What brings you to the studios you go to? The teachers? Events? Specials? Other students? What about it do you guys like/dislike? Workshops? All thoughts would help greatly!

I like a studio that makes me feel welcome when I walk in the door.
    I want the studio clean.
I want to know the instructors believe in training students in a safe and progressive manner.
I want to have a clean, safe area to park. Location is important, but not paramount.
“Community” is the feeling that should be in the studio. Instructors should foster a sense of “yes you can” rather than “look at me”.
If you give me a discount for referring my friends I’ll send them over!
I’d like some retail, so I can get my grip aids or tank tops right now, rather than having to wait for it to be shipped to me. Know that I’m proud to wear my pole studio tank top! Also, make sure I can buy water, in case I forgot mine!
I’d like to be able to take other classes as well, like yoga or maybe belly dancing or hoop.
Make sure you take credit cards, since I rarely carry cash.
Clearly state your studio policies, so I don’t get upset about any confusion. For example, what’s your policy on coming into class late, can I wear heels, am I on a month-to-month or a fiscal month renewal, do you require me to sign a contract, what is dress code (if any!), how do you handle drop-ins, do I get a discount on things like bachelorette parties or workshops, and other little things that could potentially turn into big things!

I will go to a place where I feel welcome not only by the owner/instructors, BUT also by others who take classes as well. I can pole at home, but I like the class setting to learn (as well as have fun with others). I have been to two studios, but during class I felt like I was invisible, the gals in class were together and not friendly, no fun. I would greet them and that’s as far as it went.

I also like a studio that embraces different styles of pole. I pole for fitness/strength/exercise and a studio that focuses mainly on dance, stilettos, sensual won’t work for me. My two pole studios embrace all styles and I love it.

Also, everything that Trixie shared is on my list, too. I love workshops.

I forgot to add that the two studios where my heart is fit the description of great studios. One is close by and I go weekly, the other is a 2 hr drive one way and I went as often as I could, it was that worth it.

Thank you both! Very helpful I think the previous owner stopped practicing good costumer service so this is all perfect as I need to rebuild that
