How much training do you all do per week?

I use to pole for about 2 hours 5 days a week. But not that I am starting out again and have a baby I am aiming for every second day for an hour to an hour and a half of poling, not including warm up or cool down/stretching.
I do believe you get out what you put in though, you will nail more moves if you practice them more but you can’t over do it. Also I think the best way to heal faster to progress faster is to eat better. Having a green smoothie after a work out is a great way to get extra calories and vitamins etc to help your body heal up -
My poling schedule varies a bit, but on average I pole for 2-2.5 hrs, 4-5 days a week. I’m purely what I would call a trickster and I don’t hardly ever just dance, working on that though. I teach fitness kickboxing and kung fu once a week and usually take 1 or 2 additional cardio classes a week as well. I will say that since my son has been out of school for Christmas break, I have cut the cardio classes but at least trying to pole every to every day a little bit 🙂

I teach 10 to 15 hours of pole classes, get in at least 3 hours of personal practice, teach an hour of lyra, and throw in some extra floorwork, flexibility, head/hand stand or floor inversions, aerial, or hoopdance per week. Teaching takes up most of what used to be my free time so I do a lot less working out for myself now. But I still get plenty of exercise from it!

I actually had a student ask me this the other day! This is a great question as the answer really varies depending on the person. Everyone is different in their skills and capabilities. For absolute beginners with no cross training I recommend once or twice a week (listen to your body and don’t pole on top of soreness as you can risk injury). As your body begins to decrease in soreness level, you can work yourself towards poling every other day (allow yourself a rest day in between sessions!) As you advance and supplement your workouts you’ll really want to tune into to your body and listen to it as you won’t want to over work certain areas. You can do arms with the pole one day and then change it up with legs another day. There is no right way for everyone which is something I really stress for my students. We focus a lot on becoming in tune and learning how to be the expert in our own bodies. I teach up to 8 classes a week and add in 1 or 2 hours for my own progression in either silks or pole. Some days I really want to get in the studio and do my own thing but because I’m feeling sore, I have to put it off for another day just to be on the safe side. At the same time, I make sure I take it easy in my teaching. Being an instructor and the sole operator of my studio really gives me a well rounded workout.

I usually pole 4times a week 1 hour sessions. I try to do 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. I do flexibility training 2 times a week for 1 hour. And I try to do just a little bit of abs everytime I think about it. I’m doing the 30 day ab challenge, which reminds me I need to do that right now…

After meeting my weight goal, things started lagging. And I started working more, so… 🙁 sad. Anyway, before then, 3 to 4 times a week, I’d pole for an hour. I’d warm up with a little weight/strength training. In between I’d go running or walking or do some aerobics that would equal up to about an hour or so.
Trying to find a balance again where I can be consistent. I miss my pole.

I do a class called pole fit that works on upper body, Stretching and core…and also teaches you moves like the invert the climb headstand etc on Sundays.. Then I take a sexy flexy class Mondays that’s works on flexibility, then Thursdays I have my beginner 2 pole class. I stay and practice about an extra hour a week. I plan on practicing everyday when I get my own pole 🙂

Has anyone bought that pole dancing course by Amber Starr? Is that also a good investment to add to my home pole practice?

Hey girls
I take one 1hr ‘Advanced 2’ pole class each week plus I practice an extra 2 hours a week, then stretch for 2hours total per week. I like to fit in gym weights when I can but sometimes its hard to fit it in cause ill be sore/don’t want to be sore for next pole session. I would like to train more but feel like I’m already pushing it with my body’s limits. -
The Amber Starr course is a scam: https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/BEWARE_SCAM_ONLINE_POLE_DANCE_LESSONS__20130319113647

I don’t know. My class schedule is Monday multi-level pole followed by aerial if I have the energy. Tuesday advanced pole then ballroom dance class. Wed is a rest day if I am really sore or aerial yoga. Thursday advanced pole and Latin dance class. I have a house cleaning job every other Friday so I consider it a rest day but it is just a non training day. Saturday I just started teaching a cardio-kick class then I attend pole (multi-level) U used to stay for aerial but I am not sure if that will ever happen while I am teaching. Then I do extra cardio during the week and practice my handstands or flexibility but that just depends on how I feel. All the classes I attend are 1-1.5 hours. So I would say I take(or teach) a minimum of 8 hours of classes each week.

I forgot to mention that I have been doing this for about 2 years when I started I did pole 2-3 days and cardio at home or in the gym a few days a week.

Right now I’m only putting in 1-2 hours a week on the pole and 1-2 hours a week doing conditioning/cardio. When I get my remodel finished and can keep my pole up 24/7 I’m hoping to up my pole time to at least 30 min a day. Even only doing the 2-4 total hours per week I’m soooo much stronger than I was when I started 4 months ago!

I teach pole anywhere from 11-20 hours a week depending on how many parties/private lessons are booked. I teach one chair class a week. I try to do a Jillian 30 shred workout 4 times a week.
