I have sat here that pass few days reading theses post and figured, Why not , so here go’s…

I turned 37 in Febuary. I’m I’m 5’4 and 135lbs. Got married really young and then a divorce after 13 years, I have one 16 yr.old son out of that marriage . I am engaged now , planning a spring wedding for next year to a great guy that has 3 children.

I also suffer from Panic disorder , and anxiety. I been on medication for it now for at least 11 years. Since poling , I notice I am feeling so much better. I used to get at the least one panic attack a day. Poling has changed that for me , I am now getting fewer attacks. The Panic attacks decreased to two week.

Growing up I took Jazz and Gymnastics.. I always loved to dance and always wanted to pole. I decided to teach my-self so I got my Pole at the end of Febuary ,and I love it. I never been into exercise, even though I tried, I just never stuck with it. I noticed I I lost a few pounds of stubborn belly fat since I started poling.
It’s great to loose some weight and get in shape doing something you enjoy.

I’m 48, I weigh 197 lbs as of this morning. I have two kids seven years apart. My son is 20, a sophomore in music at the University of Illinois (keyboard/organs), and a 13 year old daughter who is in eighth grade. My wife is 47 and teaches Biology in High School. We’ve been married for about…hmm, I always forget…22 years?

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/alien.gif I had been procrastinating for many years thinking that I was too old to be good at dancing. I did ballet when I was a kid and when I gave it up always regretted it and thought that it was too late to get back into dancing. I have never really done any excercise except for a few years of martial arts which I sucked at. Then I went to see a Amatuer Pole Dancing competition here in Wellington, New Zealand, and it was awesome! There was such a mixture of people doing it at all levels, and I decided that it was worth a go. (I joined the gym first for a month before I got the courage to go to a pole class though!) Now I’m slightly obsessed, I go to two classes a week, a contemporary dance class, the gym, and have even started going for runs around the park! Oh, I am 36, 5.8, not sure what I weigh because I don’t think it matters as long as you feel good. I have been poling for 6 months, am not pear shaped any more and actually have upper body strength (something I’ve never had). I’ve even danced in public at the Cuba Street Carnival in Wellington which was very cool! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/alien.gif

Oh pole-twista, you sound like you’re having a really rough time, don’t give up. I hope you achieve your dream too.

I’ve had my pole since September, but I had a three month break to go overseas. I’m an October child, I turned 23 last year. I’m 1.64cm or 5’4" and I weigh roughly 50kg or 110 pounds.

In the past I’ve done rock climbing and I was a sprinter. My extensive dancing history includes doing the chicken dance, the macarena, the hokey pokey, the hitch hiker, bus driver, the lawn mower and drunken dancing in the clubs (and sometimes combining all those dances in the clubs- oh no!) But pole dancing is the only form that actually challenges me, I’m just a natural at the other dances https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

I’m 34, will be 35 in July, I’m 5′ 7" and all I know is that I’m very overweight and will not weigh myself as I have an obsessive personality and will be checking it every day. The last set of scales broke 4 years ago and I will NOT ever replace them. Fitness and health have to come before appearence, once they are in place I feel everything else falls into place nicely.
I have just received my xpole last week https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif but I was away when it came and I will be away a fair bit over the next few weeks so I am holding off setting it up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
I used to run a lot and I was often over taken by pensioners so age has never been a concern of mine and to be fair there are so many people that look better as they age.
Everyone on here, there ages range from teenage upwards, I think its a good thing. Lets not be told we are too old to do anything

    Hi!
I’m 44, Portuguese, have 3 girls (17, 15 and 13) and love pole dancing!. Started in February, and made lots of progress, but I’m not quite "there" yet. Hope it’ll be soon. I don’t have a dance background (or any kind of gym background for that matter) but I just love to dance!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Hey all! I’m 38, with 3 sons, 2 dogs a cat and a husband (he’s 27 and keeps me young!). I’m 5’1” and weighed 154 when I started poling last fall. I’m down to 140 so far https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I have no dance background, nor have I ever stuck to an exercise program before. I work as a supervisor on a crisis line and enjoy reading and backpacking. I was thrilled to read there are lots of ladies here that are close to my age. I was so sure I was the "granny"; it gives me hope that I’m NOT too old to learn the harder inverts! BTW, yeah for me I got the fallen angel!!

    I’m one of the young’uns https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I will be 23 in October of this year. My mother was a professional dancer before becoming a dance teacher so I started dancing young (age 5) and my true love is ballet. I also danced jazz for many years and started taking modern dance in college. I’ve tried Indian, Irish, and tap dance but am a beginner in all of those.

I started pole dancing after seeing Felix’s performance on youtube so I am nearing the 1 year mark for my pole adventure https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Of course, all my dance training gave me quite an advantage!

I am 5’10” and 158lbs (yes, I’m heavy! Just goes to show the number doesn’t matter, my body looks better now than it did when I was 15 lbs lighter!)

    This thread id fab!

I’m 22, been poleing for 1 yr. I’m 5’6 and about 52kgs. I was told aged 6 by my dance teacher that I wasn’t graceful enough to be a ballerina https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif so went and did gymnastics / trampolining / diving so I could throw myself round instead of being graceful! All of these sports ceased due to my accident-proneness (dislocated knee, torn ACL, broken nose, broken arm etc etc), now I surf lots, pole lots and play rugby (thats a recent one…. I’m waiting for my next injury! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif )
Not sure why I decided to learn to pole…. I think it was a bit of a rebellion thing, my dad thought I was mental lol. Now my whole family (including dad and brothers) play on my poles and they are so competitive its hillarious! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
