We have brass pussy cat poles are my studio and I do like them but they make my hands stink!!!

However, at home I have a titanium gold x-pole. I originally wanted brass but I bought it from someone through the trading post and when I turned up at their house it was actually a TG pole. It was all wrapped up and never been used so I thought what the hell and bought it anyway…I absolutely love it! I'm glad that I didn't get the brass as the TG is really grippy and any grippier I think I would hate it!

I really wish X pole would make the 40mm in TG! Wonder when they will offer that!

Valerie – I talked to X pole US over and over again about getting a 40mm TG pole. They offer it in the U.K. because the TG is popular there I guess, but Kimara says it's not popular enough here to get a shipment.

If you want a type of pole, call them and request it! As of the last time I pestered them, I was the only one asking about a 40mm TG. The only way they can know if there is a demand is if people say they want it!

Really Leyrose?? I’ve seen on Aus X-Pole seller sites that the TG is not available in the 40mm size.
40mm is only available in Chrome & Brass in Australia.

Hmmm… Yeah I've just had a look Juicy J and you are right. I bought my pole off someone who was selling on the trading post. She had bought it then moved house and had no room for it so it was still all wrapped up in its box and it is 100% a 40mm TG. She  must have had it ordered in from the UK then.

WOW!!!! You are very lucky then!!! I’m very happy for you that you scored this rare, much wanted pole & finish!
How much did U pay for it?!

In Australia, we stock the 40mm in Chrome or Brass, mainly because they are the two finishes most commonly used by studios here. Most people that use Titanium (matt Silver or Gold finish) over here are after a 45mm, as it's also the most common size we sell.
The new brass is FAR grippier though than the original brass. Anyone with the original brass will see a great improvement if they clean the pole with a cutting compound (in Aus we recommend Mr Buff).
The brass tubing is solid brass, and they are probably now becoming one of the most popular poles we sell. Hope this helps?

@Juicy J I paid $600 for it…I thought it was well worth it seeing as it was completely new.

    That’s pretty good, Leyrose!! ^_^
Am very happy for you that you got it for that price.

I paid $670 for a secondhand Bobbi’s Portable Pole which is a Brass 38mm Spin & Static pole in a fully adjustable and removable design like your’s. I think the owner had it only 6 months and decided to get rid of it due to lack of space.

I also sold my X-Pert in 45mm Chrome not too long ago for $370. Haha, I just realised that’s a $300 difference!

X-Poles are a good design! I was contemplating buying the 40mm Brass but was a bit put off when I saw that the dome & adjuster cover & rod were in Titanium Gold for stability issues. It looked a bit like a multi-coloured pole.

I was actually going to buy a Bobbi's pole, I found a secondhand one online for $250 and was seriously considering it. The only thing that got me was the fact it was 38mm and at the time I really wanted a 42mm for some strange reason… I kind of wish I had gotten a 38mm pole but 2mm isn't much difference at all.

Wow haha…how did you find the chrome? I have never danced on a chrome pole…only brass, so I have no idea how slippery they are.

That doesn't sound very nice with all different colours on it… Mine is completely gold. But I have heard a lot of stories of the colouring wearing off. But that's okay, I don't plan on selling it anytime soon if ever!

    Really??! $250 for a secondhand Bobbi’s Pole??
The sellers will generally sell it anywhere from $600-$800 or so because it’s such an expensive pole to begin with! It’s more expensive than a lot of the big name brands out there because it’s especially made by Bobbi’s at their Perth studio.
To be totally honest though, parts of their design bother me somewhat, like the fact that it’s a top-loaded pole, which means you always need a ladder to set up. The dome & base are unusually large compared to the X-Pert design which is more sleek.
The dome also had its odd and uneven shade of gold colour rub off when my friend tried to polish it for me with Mag Polish and it’s now got a very yucky weird dull silver colour on it.
Bad quality for the dome & base when it comes to the colour.

Yeah, I’ve asked people about 38mm & 40mm poles. Apparently the difference is like nothing anyway! Only 2mm.

I learnt on Stainless Steel/Chrome so that’s what I went for in 2010 when I started. There wasn’t a huge choice of finish and size back then.
It’s alright. After using 38mm Brass at Bobbi’s, I have found a finish that is very suitable for my skin type so will stick with this.
Brass is def way more stickier than the slicker Chrome & SS.

I’ve also tried TG at another studio near my area but that was such a long time ago. A bit stickier than Chrome & SS but not sure how it compares to the Brass.

Yes, that was one of the reasons why I hesitated to get a TG – that the colour wears off over time but the grip stays the same.

Yeah.. she said it was the old style of Bobbi's pole? I really don't know much about them.

Does it make your hands smell awful like metal afterwards?

Yes I do agree, the x pert is so sleek and nice… I mounted mine by myself, no ladder or measuring haha. I just winged it and it worked!

Yeah it doesnt feel much between my home pole and the studio one.

It's good that you learnt on a different type of pole so you could see which finish worked best for you. I have heard that… I hope when the colour wears off it wears evenly!
