    Hello Pole comunity!

I found StudioVeena about two years ago and have been followig ever since. Today I am ready to join in all the fun! I have been into pole dance since 2009 but only took classes. So as you know for years now I have wanted a pole of my very own at home. Well, today I have decided what I want for christmas….A POLE!!!!!!!

However, I find myself in an interesting place with this. This summer I moved in with my boyfriend, we live in his recentley pased gradmothers house now owned by his parents.

My question is how do I best introduce the amazingness of the pole dancing world to my boyfriends parents. I think they should know why I need to drill holes in the celing and I may need their help.(becuse the cilings are slanted and the revield beam is off center!!! We will have to put up a block of wood some how.)

I am thinking of forming an email that includes video end every thing. I'm sure both partys never thought we would be here but I know what I want I'm my life and every one who does know is all about it and way, way pased any stigma. I believe they will be all on board too, its just geting over the initial "I love to pole dance and I want to put a pole in your mothers house!" =D I think I would like to nof focuse on the sexiness part of it and focuse on the finess, Inproving my body, that this is for me, how empowerd I feel, excitedness for the challenge, for my health, to express myself, and for the Fun!

I aprechiate any help. I I hope by the bigining of the year I can put up some vids so you all can all see my pole jurney!

Good luck! My boyfriend bought a house this spring & I thought I was getting a pole room. My first pole was too short for any ceilings. And I housed it laying down in the pole-tential room. Monster in law saw it and really couldn’t throw it away or drive off with it in the car ( what would the neighbors think?!) SO she went thru my stuff and threw away all pole related items (stilettos, shorts, grip aides). Yes I hate her.
I asked my bf wtf and he responded yeah maybe it’s not a good idea to have a pole in the house. Soooo I have been fighting it and been showing him videos of Klaus exercising (thank you!) and just recently roller skates (Oct challenge) he was more amazed than ‘turned on’.
We did go to Cirque de Solei and his fav things were pole & aerial fabrics. Good! Good!
Also I call it my “fitness room”during discussions to make him realize it is more than just ‘stripper pole’.
Bring up the idea of working out at home, making a fitness space. Go from there. ‘I might need your help putting in place my fitness equipment’ see how they feel about holes in ceilings. Go further.
Stay with purely fitness videos and dressed (non pole community needs more clothes at first) and then a video of your pole inspiration. Showing a Veena lesson is great too!

I don't know how much room you have in your house but I came across this website that didn't require putting a pole on the ceiling.  However, you need to have some room in order to make it work.  http://www.jaysilver.net/pictures/cosmo/2/stripperpole.html

@ Nique- it is cheaper to get a removable ceiling to floor pole. One can move it to different locations, hide it in horizontal to utilize the space, resale is easier.
And stages and ‘stand alone’ poles are sold by same removable pole manufactures. X pole, platinum stages have non screw in poles.
And these are good topics while discussing with family. Only time they’ll see the pole is installation help, curiosity, pride (shows you decide to perform).
