I have an idea of how he got into that trick. I lean towards what chumpchkin said and a trick that I (kinda sorta…I did it once) trick that I learned from Michelle Stanek. So if I somehow magically extended my top leg (Michelle could, it was awesome) I think I would create enough tension to let go with the other hand.
Getting into it is a twisted grip top hand/cup grip bottom hand shoulder mount.
