My dad just got re-married and they will have a big wedding party in October and I was thinking about performing.

As there will be the whole family including my da (of course), auts & uncles, cousins, grandma, … All the sensual stuff is out. I’m not even sure about wearing heels, allthough my whole family knows that I’m crazy about heels.

So I’m looking for something entertaining, beautiful or funny, not too dramatic and of course not sexy at all.

Any ideas? Please feel free to post videos!

    Thanks!

I just watched PoleLeo’s Love Story video (posted yesterday I think) and that sort of thing would be beautiful for a wedding. I think you would probably need to be careful and not take any risks with humour (some people are very easily offended) and go with the beauty and grace option. Turn it into a stunning dance to a beautiful love song. Do you know what the couple’s favourite love song is? You could do it to that maybe?

I did “I can hear the bells” from Hairspray for a showcase once. I had my husband (non poler) help. It’s was supposed to be about me seeing him and falling in love and getting the courage to go kiss him, only with a bit of a silliness. It went over super well especially with the parents who came that night.

For me, I tend to go more theater (see most of the videos I post haha) which can be fun but you could always go for a classic love song and just skip any sexy steps. Go for elegant and elongated lines. Definitely doable anyway. If you want a more contemporary song, there’s some nice Lana del Rey, I like Bright Lights and City Scapes (Sara Bareilles), or Claire de Lune if you want to go classical, or something off the Hello Dolly musical if you want to go oldschool…

I did a performance to part of Adele’s song One and Only for a friend’s wedding. I concentrated on big, open poses and slow, smooth transitions. I was also using my lyra, though, so a little different. I’ll post part of the video, maybe if you want to see it anyway.
